Cable news really stinks.

FOX is not much better.
Nope.

Editorialism at its finest... (BTW, I just neologized that word, I love it and plan on making use of it with the same sarcastic wit I always apply to spice up conversations hereabouts)....

editorialism
noun /ˌɛdɪˈtɔːriəˌlɪzəm/

Definition:
The practice of presenting opinion, bias, or emotional spin as if it were objective journalism — often disguised with a thin veneer of "reporting" to maintain the illusion of credibility.
Used especially to describe modern media's habit of producing content that prioritizes narrative over neutrality.

Example:

“I thought I was watching the news, but it was just 30 minutes of pure editorialism wrapped in a breaking news banner.”

Usage Notes:

  • Often found on 24-hour news channels, clickbait websites, and certain social media "news" influencers.
  • Not to be confused with editorials, which admit they’re opinionated.
  • Think of it as propaganda-lite, with a smug smile and a lower word count.

Synonyms:
biascasting, narrativizing, op-edification, news-tainment (adjacent)

Yes, Fox and Rush Limpballs started the trend. Reagan made it possible. News use to have standards. They no longer do.
Rush was never "news", that's absurd. Though Fox did take the already pre-made blueprint from CNN and is editorialism, it certainly didn't start this mess.

CNN used to do news. Decades ago.
In order to fill 24 hours of news cycle they went well beyond news and began the increasing trend of 24 hour "news" channels turning to editoralism. Pretending that they don't, or that just flipping that plan so the right had a single "voice" in a large room full of biascasting (yet another neologism) "news" sources is just pretense.

The idea that FOX copied CNN is bizarre.

His followers sure thought he was.

Roger Ailes is given credit for changing the news. You can think what you want, but facts are facts.

PS: You forget about Limpballs short stint on TV before he went to radio, he helped usher in Fox.

By that time CNN was better known as the "Clinton News Network" (all Good Clinton News All the Time)... Yeah, they just flipped the plans so that left was right. MSDNC then just took CNNs plans and made them lean even further left in their editorialism.

Regular news networks were criticized for bias, CNN was the first to do it 24/7 and pushed out the first steaming piles of editorialism. but they started drawing eyeballs that the See B.S. Nooz wanted to have so they started to lean even more left thinking that was the formula for success... Fox was just the first rightwing version, so folks that already have longer right legs so they lean left when they walk thought that they were the "first" editorialism source out there.

Again, his followers considered him, news.
You can think it’s absurd, but his followers got their news, and how to process it from Limpballs.
