No, they didn't. They listened because they liked hearing their own opinion from a media source, as until that point almost all media sources were leftist. Nobody thought Limbaugh was "news", that's nonsense.

He considered himself to be a commentator, his ads said so. No source out there has anyone tuning into Limbaugh for news, folks listened for opinion. The topic would be about current events, but it was all commentary, he never said he was a journalist.

Indeed. Rush is as memorable a commentator as they come, since he started a whole new genre in talk shows.
You pretended that the plan set forth by CNN wasn't the same plan Fox used, telling us all how they were journalism, though anyone with eyes can see the parallel. You simply cannot see it for your own slant. And saying they are currently "rightwing" is laughable. They still tilt left, just not as far left as they used to... to those of you whose right leg is long indeed it may seem "rightwing", but that is simply perspective.
