Bye Bye Lake Mead

This is the first real argument I can remember seeing from you. Those studies have been done. They can be quickly accessed at Google. It seems the trouble is climate change combined with poor water management and increased water demand.

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2021/04/210406092659.htm

Climate cannot change. There is no value associated with climate that can change.

It is not possible to measure the temperature of the West or it's precipitation.

Science is not an URL. Science is not making up numbers, a study, research, or experiment. It is not a University, government grant, association, guild, or any other political organization. False authority fallacy.

I wonder how many will realize overpopulation of dry areas is the real problem......southern California should learn how make their own drinkable water instead of just trying to seize everyone else's........

Actually all they have to do is collect the water they have and not waste it.
The Sierra Nevada range is quite capable of providing all the water they need.

They should have opened desalination plants all over the Californian coast but haven't. Of course the usual suspects like the Coastal Commission are against it.

Agency unanimously rejects California desalination project

The California Coastal Commission has rejected a long-standing proposal to build a $1.4 billion seawater desalination plant to turn ocean water into drinking water

https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/amid-drought-california-desalination-project-crossroads-84662737

The Sierra Nevada range is quite capable of natural desalination. The SDTC only has to build systems to collect and use it.

You lost the argument when you posted that Lake Mead's water levels have only declined since 1983 when prior to that, the lake would get filled thanks to snowfall and rainfall.

So you helped me prove that the reason the lake isn't full is because there's been a drought for 22 years!

LOL

Define 'drought'.

^^^ all in the span of 7 minutes. This drive-by hatred you do is one of your patterns. Is it because your facility only allows you so many minutes per day to vent your hatred of everyone? Is it because you can only afford to spend so many minutes of the day on a single forum before running off to spread hatred and stupidity on other forums?

IDK. I'm curious though. Very curious. LOL

I bet you're going to kill yourself now that you helped prove my argument about Lake Mead here on JPP by helpfully posting the water levels that show they have only declined since 1983 thanks to a drought caused by Climate Change.

Climate cannot change.

Well, it may be time to start drilling for water- rather than oil!
People already do.
At some point, a barrel of water will be more expensive than a barrel of oil!
In some places it already is.
Automobiles also rely as much on water as they do gasoline. There is no gasoline automobile going nowhere very far without water. Now some would say, "NO! Automobiles use anti-freeze." But even Anti-freeze or basically-Ethylene glycol- is produced through the hydrolysis of ethylene oxide. Ethylene (ethene) is a colorless gas produced by the petrochemical industry. Ethylene oxide is mixed with an abundance of water in a series of process steps to produce ethylene glycol.
The coolant system of a liquid cooled engine is water. Antifreeze is to keep the water from freezing in winter.
And the news just keeps getting worse as, Antifreeze can pollute groundwater, surface water and drinking water supplies if dumped, spilled or leaked, and is harmful to marine and aquatic life. While in an engine, antifreeze can become contaminated with lead or fuel to the point where it must be managed as a hazardous waste.
Neither lead nor fuel is hazardous waste. Antifreeze isn't hazardous waste either. (Unless you are in someplace run by an illiterate king, such as the SDTC).
Battery operated vehicles do not use water- or antifreeze.
Yes they do. Tesla motors are oil cooled. The batteries are liquid cooled using water with antifreeze. Guess you never notice the radiators on these cars, didja?
Going green is as good for the water we drink as it is the air we breath!
People don't drink antifreeze, dumbass.

Obviously, you deny things like rain and snow.

Water is an essential to life! Water is a natural resource. Water resources can run dry.

The Great Salt Lakes are an example of that! The Petrified forest is yet another. Both are deserts today!

Building reservoirs was a great idea. Water Conservation is a good thing.

But, we will never be able to stop the Sun from evaporating water here on Earth- So when water is in short supply- WE NEED SOME NEW IDEAS AND WE MAY HAVE TO CHANGE SOME OF MAN'S BAD and reckless HABITS.
I guess you have never heard about the water cycle.

He is completely fucking wrong.

Lake Mead is dry because of the 22 year drought the region has been experiencing:

Megadrought in Southwest Is Now the Worst in at Least 1,200 Years, Study Confirms
https://news.climate.columbia.edu/2...s enveloped, the journal Nature Climate Change.

Lakes dry up on their own or from mankind tapping them. Are you saying Lake Mead is simply drying up on it's own, that mankind has nothing to do with a man-made reservoir? Sorry, but I'm a bit confused on the basis of argument.

Are we agreed that drought, probably from climate change or at least worsened by climate change, and the local population for a several states around are draining Lake Mead?

So you don't think they use water and oil in the manufacturing of EVs? BTW A couple of gallons of coolant in an ICE will last for years.

Hey YOU were the one that people on both sides bashed in a thread about YOU lately.

Both sides?

No. Just Nazis and bOthSiDerIstS who take pride in not taking sides.

The thing about not taking sides is that you'll never be on the right side of history.

And why are you happy that Nazis like your posts?

Lakes dry up on their own or from mankind tapping them.

Dry up on their own, why? Because there's no rainfall or snowfall.

And why is there no rainfall or snowfall? Because there's a drought.

And what caused the drought? Climate change.

And what caused Climate change? Burning CO2.

And who primarily burned CO2? Oil companies.

And which oil companies knew that burning CO2 would lead to the drought that led to the draining of Lake Mead? ALL OF THEM.

Lake Mead was at its peak in 1983, and every year since then its water levels have declined.

That's not because of increased usage, that's because of a fucking drought.

Why are so many of you so fucking stupid about this? I don't understand. Of course there won't be any water if it never rains or snows.

It does rain and snow in the desert, it just hasn't in the SW desert for 22 years because of the drought.

Are we agreed that drought, probably from climate change or at least worsened by climate change, and the local population for a several states around are draining Lake Mead?

People aren't draining the lake with increased usage because these farms and cities existed for decades before this drought.

Why are you trying to blame PEOPLE for Climate Change which was caused by OIL COMPANIES?

It's that boTHSiDerISm compulsion you have to socialize blame on people who have absolutely no control over the drought or the water usage.

Prior to the drought, everyone got the water the water they neeeded.

So the drought is the problem.

So you don't think they use water and oil in the manufacturing of EVs? BTW A couple of gallons of coolant in an ICE will last for years.

I never said I thought that.

Dude they use crude oil to manufacture aspirin. And just about everything is dependent upon water.

So, I never try to underplay the role Oil or water has on our lives.

But, we should be doing everything possible to insure both water and oil will be available to our future generations- INSTEAD OF USING IT ALL UP SO OLD FARTS LIKE YOU CAN HOG IT FOR THEMSELVES AND PLAY POLITICS WITH IT.
