Poor Iran... all their bluster about changing oil sales over to the Euro. You ALMOST have to feel bad for them... losing 15% or more on the exchange.

Iran will “substantially” decrease its oil sales in euros, the paper said. It informed Japan and other crude-oil customers of the change, Jaam-e-Jam said. The Persian Gulf country’s euro reserves are 55 percent of the total, and would be reduced to 20 to 25 percent after the sale is complete and after oil sales in euros have been reduced, the paper said.

ooops

Euro will be viewed as risky for the next 10years if it even survives. American dollar is where its at still.

Agreed, it is unlikely we will see a challenge from any other currency in the next decade for the 'reserve' currency status

Probably correct but i live in hope of the resurgence of the Vietnamese economy in order to grasp the opportunity to, somewhat childishly, crowbar in the phrase "I'm going big on Dong" into conversations with city financiers.

'I'm Long on the Dong' would have been equally amusing
