If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter, take note of that person, and have nothing to do with him, that he may be ashamed. Do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God's decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
That would be so Christian of them, wouldn't it.Maybe bakers will start secretly urinating in forced cake baking orders... But yeah let's give them money and business while they urinate in the cakes.
your racism is destroying the country
That would be so Christian of them, wouldn't it.
Jesus lived with the sinners, broke bread with them, loved them, showed them by example that loving one another changed lives. This is the Jesus I read about in scriptures, but I find few of his followers live by his example. They use the purity laws of the Jews against homosexuals, and they aren't even Jews, they are Christians, and people forget, Paul wasn't a Christian, he saw himself as a Jew for Jesus.
No, it wouldn't be Christian of them- but according to all of you they aren't behaving Christian like- you want to give your money to people who don't like what you are doing, but being forced to do so? Pretty stupid.
You understand biblical theology as well as an ant knows the English language-
lol, seems you are the who doesn't understand it if you find fault with my evaluation of Jesus
No, I find your biblical theology shallow, sophomoric, and cherry picked.
So, this is shallow, sophomoric and cherry picked?
Jesus lived with the sinners, broke bread with them, loved them, showed them by example that loving one another changed lives.
Please, explain how this statement is shallow, sophomoric and cherry picked. Thanks
Because you are attempting to imply the idea that being against gay marriage is not being Christian. That's shallow and sophomoric application of a cherry picked scripture. The bakers sold baked goods to homosexuals- they drew the line at participating in what they deemed crossed a line for them as regards a sacrament of the Church. In others words they did share their business with them as far as their conscience allowed.
The cake makers were being forced to like gay marriage? I must have missed that part of the story.

I could never get my head wrapped around the idea that God wants the government to decide who's "married" at all
I am attempting to tell you that you Jesus would act differently from the bakers. Read the scripture of the woman at the well, you do not change what you perceive as sinful in others by not baking a cake. The scriptures are full of Jesus healing those who were sinners, he didn't reject them, he excepted them and in doing so changed their lives. You treat them as you do others, you try to show them to sin no more.
If this is a shallow, sophomoric, cherry picked version of Jesus, then it is probably the reason I no longer identity as Christian, I thought Jesus message was one of love and acceptance but have found his followers to be more willing to judge.
As another poster has asked, show me where Jesus says you can't bake a cake, I have seen scripture that says if it causes you sin, but nothing in the area of doing service for sinners, Jesus was all about service for sinners.
Yes, he would have- he'd have told them to stop and sin no more- to pick up their cross, and daily die to their proclivity- just as he would a drunkard, adulter, thief etc. but that Jesus would be condemned by the modern culture and I dare say hated.
