Your missing my point. The vast middle is being underepresented due to gridlock coming from the extremes. It's a gut shot cause a good man like Bayh can't get anything done due to the gridlock caused by the extremes. How is it a punch in the gut? Name three good results that Evan Bayh's "centrism" has produced by way of policy.
Yes but your sick, twisted and evil too!I love me some gridlock.

I'd say he's probably been offerend a job where he makes 10 times the money for half the work.Name one bill that was blocked by extremists on the left. Just one.
I have no idea why Bayh is retiring, but his proffered reasons are complete horseshit. Basically, he's saying that legislating is hard so he's quitting - and he's taking a steamy piss on his Democratic colleagues while he's at it.
Maybe he can run for governor of Alaska.
Unhuh....but you considered Bush to be a moderate.Bayh is a wuss who claimed he was centrist but voted with the far left and I'm glad to see him gone.
How about the far left holding up the change in the CFR where the Bush administration changed the definition of solid waste to promote recycling?Name one bill that was blocked by extremists on the left. Just one.

I think Bayh said it best, he likes public service, liked being executive, hates working in Congress. I look for him to run for governor again, then for President if the opportunity arises.

He can't run for president, he's been labeled a "quitter" by the Dems! Of course, hypocrisy never stopped them before, so.... maybe he can?
Kind of like when you said Palin wasn't a good choice for VP, and that you didn't know what McCain was thinking, and then within days started a thread entitled "Sarah Barracuda!" and comparing her to Reagan?
Like that?
No, not like that.
It's funny... Palin quits and all we hear is how that destroyed any possibility she could ever be elected president... she was a quitter! Bayh quits and people are speculating he may run for president! Not one single person I know of, Republican or Democrat, has suggested his chances are diminished by his quitting. It kind of puts a double-standard into perspective.
Ahhhh ever the partisan Dixie?I have an idea why he's quitting, he's like a rat jumping from a sinking ship! He sees what's about to happen and it's not pretty for democrats. Maybe he can see what is coming because he is a centrist, because I don't think the left-wingers even have a clue. I firmly believe they think they can save this, and they aren't in that bad of shape, but there is a tsunami coming in November, and people like Bayh know it.
Actually, it's exactly like that.
According to you, you're a hypocrite. Not that we needed you to clear that up...
???? I am puzzled by your comment. Are you spinning so fast you forgot what side you're on?
Palin quit: Disqualifies her from being elected because she quit!
Bayh quit: Oh...maybe he's gonna run for prez?
You don't see a double-standard there? I do!
Ahhhh ever the partisan Dixie?
I think what, to a large degree, we'll be seeing is a case of incumbant fever. Since the Dems are in majority, they'll probably feel that the most. But you're nuts Dixie if you think Republicans will be immune from that. Constituencies are just as fed up with whacky wingnuts as they are with the looney left.
The only way to start changing the climate in DC is to vote all those fuckers out of office. Left and right.
No - not what I was saying. I was saying that I see your clear double-standard by saying Dems would be hypocrites for nominating Bayh after calling him a quitter, but not acknowledging that you did the same when you said Palin wasn't a good choice, then said she's the next Reagan....
