Brown sworn in as California's 39th governor

California deserves exactly what it gets. The voters there are among the stupidest in the country. They're a bunch of play-dough figures, the politicians shape them into whatever shape they want, mostly lemmings, sometimes sheep.

I wonder if when the polls get tough for ol' Jerry, if he'll be "accidentally" seen emerging from a hotel with Linda Rondstat. Hell, what's good in '78 is good in 2014.

I agree. I think he deserves a chance, though. It's highly possible that at this point in his life, he doesn't give two shits about his long-term political career, which, if true, could be a positive thing for the future of the state.

I suppose what I'm saying is this - IF he is serious about shared sacrifice, he could be precisely what California so desperately needs...

Jerry Brown was hailed by conservatives in his first term for being so damned fiscal, they said he was better than Ronny.

Then the cons got prop 13 passed which crashed many a local budget with massive shortfalls.

Guess who had to keep the state working from the bottom up in his second term?

at about two and a half minutes listen to the number, a budget surplus of three plus billion.

For those of you who dont know what california was like before and then right after prop 13 you will likely NEVER understand its impact on EVERY little burg in the state.

EVERYTHING went downhill afterwards

Reagan was before Prop 13: officially named the People's Initiative to Limit Property Taxation. Didn't you know that?:palm:

now read all of these articles and you will have a little insite of what it meant to life in california.

You will no doubt like the first one best because it is the con side.

I lived in cali when this went down and for years after the state I grew up in was changed, it still suffers from this shitty fix for a problem that could have easily been remedied in other ways.

It is WHY california is in the mess it is now

Prop 13 decimated every little burg in the state you asshole.

libraries closed, shcool busses idled, roads left to decay, bridges left unsafe.

You people often talk shit about cali and it was right wing politics which gave my beautiful state most of its problems.
