If he has been cheating on his wife his best bet would be not to try and deny it or cover it up but it promptly admit his transgression and request a mea culpa from the public by way of a public apology to his constituents and more importantly to his wife and family. If he does that, I think the American public will be all to willing to forgive him this all to common human failing. If he plays the hypocrite and tries to deny it or cover it up and it turns out he's lied....then he should be prepared to pay dire consequences.
