Boehner cant deliver on his promise from last night.

The heat sure is on his ass though. I thought the President did a far better job of selling his version then Boehner did. Boehner's going to have a tough time selling his version considering previous Republican administrations raised the spending cap over 25 times in the recent past and are responsible for the vast majority of our national debt. Can you say "Hypocrisy"?

Maybe if the Democrats would produce a plan the House would pass theirs.....

May, 2011
Despite a stern letter from every Senate Republican, Senate Democrats “leaders” have made a political decision—DO NOTHING and attack Paul Ryan’s budget. But “doing nothing” is hardly new to this Senate. According to Byron York at the Washington Times, (and Senator Jeff Sessions), “The last time the Senate passed a budget was April 29, 2009, which was, if you are counting — and Jeff Sessions is — 755 days ago.”

The so-called deliberative body of Congress, (controlled by the Democrats), have cowardly made another political choice by again ignoring the will of the people—to put the Federal Government’s fiscal house in order—and to stop the deficit spending. Instead, the majority leader and Senate Budget Committee Chairman, Kent Conrad have no intention of performing their statutory responsibility:
“There’s no need to have a Democratic budget, in my opinion,” Reid told the Los Angeles Times last week. “It would be foolish for us to do a budget at this stage.”

How about that Jughead ??? Is that leadership ?....Isn't the 'leader' Obama, the Democrat President ?

Lets stick with facts.....

Obama has no version....he didn't present anything that could be voted on....no details, nothing but generalities....Congress don't vote on generalities....

Democrats have no version...as I posted above....

Jarod, what you fail to understand is that the do-nothing option is the one that we Conservatives want. If the debt ceiling is not raised then spending has to be reduced, and at much higher levels than any plan so far put forth. This would devastate Obama's socialist dream. Boehner can be playing handball off the side of the congressional chamber for all we care. We have you libtards over a barrel, no compromising necessary. :)

It means we should force somebody to pay attention, neither plan is even close to fixing the problem. Less than 10% reduction in the rate of growth? That won't stop S&P from downgrading our credit rating. It seriously won't.

Obama absolutely needs to get off the default of "no" to everything proposed. He hasn't put forward a plan and calls it a "balanced approach"... That isn't balanced it is a terrified approach, hiding in the bushes and hoping other people will handle it for him.

Neither plan will pass even with all the "compromise" in each of them, they need to do better than this and I believe that nothing short of a balanced budget amendment will save our credit rating...

He doesn't have a version. He has buzzwords and scare tactics.

A ballanced Budget Amendment will destroy the USA, its clear that cant happen. If you understand Basic economics there are a huge variety of reasons deficate spending is necessary to remain a Super Power and to keep the economy working.

He is not a member of Congress. He does not propose laws, he signs them or vetos them. Check the Constitution.

seriously? You are fucking retarded if you think the above is even remotely true. There are certainly times when deficit spending is necessary, but we have had over 50 straight years of increases to our nations debt. THAT type of idiocy will not allow us to remain a super power. You moron.

Really? So the bipartisan debt commision was just a figment of my imagination?

Mark my word, after Boehner's speech last night there will be a serious shake up in the house Republican power structure. Now will be the time when Boehner shows what kind of leader he is. Whether you agree with me or not Obama affectively put the ball in Boehners court and his own party threw Boehner under the bus. John Boehner was one pissed of Speaker last night and he's not pissed off at Obama.

You mean the bipartisan debt commission that Obama completely ignored? The report that came out back in JANUARY? Do tell us... what did Harry Reid do with that? What did Obama present as a budget after that? Oh.... nothing you say?

Are you actually afraid the American people will ratify the Amendment ?.....Are Democrats terrorized by the American voters....Are democrats afraid the voters will say, FU to Democrats ?

Presidents have been proposing budgets, in detail, for over 200 years....their party writes it up at his direction and leadership and presents it for a vote....

But it seems you're finally ready to admit that the Congressional Republicans, under Gingrich, using the "Contract With America" is why the budget was balanced in the Clinton Administration...........

Damn...you're making progress and don't even realize it.

This was a campaign speech made at the cost of the American people and duping them into believing he was making an honest effort to put forth a plan. He said exactly Jack Shit about what his intentions were. The only message he wanted to deliver was "Bad Republicans. If you don't vote for me in 2012, you will get REALLY BAD REPUBLICANS."

WE might as well face it. The next year and a half will be The Obamination amping up the campaign rhetoric full blast and to hell with the US and the economy.

And the Amendment has provisions for that. However, if you understand basic economics you understand that deficit spending is not necessary at all times and certainly not commendable or necessary during most times.

Oh, you mean the one that McConnell, Reid, and Boehner worked out as a compromise? That isn't Obama's plan, in fact he wasn't allowed in the room when they cobbled that idiocy together.
