Blue Angels select first female fighter jet demonstration pilot

Figures you're a misogynist too, dumbass.

Here's the test: fly less than 10 feet from another F-18 at 300 knots and don't kill everyone. If she fucks up, you'll know it, douchebag.

or maybe they put on an easier show next year if she cant measure up....we shall see....they will have five months to get her where she needs to be.....there will be Hell to pay if they dont.

The whole fucking world would notice, #10. Why do you feel the need to run her down before she even shows?

What we can assume is "she" WON'T have to pass the same standards as the men. But she will insist on the same pay. Equal pay for inferior work.

Well this is a little different than the military norm because all it would take for her to cause a very public catastrophe is the team losing confidence in her. They both need to go the extra mile to get her competent and it would likely be a career ender for someone if she does not, she cant flunk out, though the chain of command is currently claiming that they wont sacrifice the safety of the team if she is not.

Lt. Amanda Lee was selected to be a F/A-18E/F demonstration pilot along with Lt. Cmdr. Thomas Zimmerman, a release from the Blue Angels states. While Lee has been selected, she will still need to complete an intensive five-month training program with the Blue Angels, which all new members are required to complete.

The F/A-18E/F is one of the six aircraft that fly during most of the Blue Angels demonstrations.

Why is this a big deal unless you think women are basically inferior to men.

Women are generally better than men at some things, men are generally better at some things, only idiots deny this reality.

"Women are just like men" comes from FantasyLand.

.
This is hardly startling news, a woman was appointed to the Thunderbirds display team way back in 2006!

“Thunderbirds,” officials announced their new pilots for the 2006 demonstration season which includes the first female demonstration pilot in the 52-year history of the Thunderbirds.

Capt. Nicole Malachowski, of the 494th Fighter Squadron at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, joins the team as the first female demonstration pilot on any U.S. military high performance jet team.

Lt. Col. Kevin Robbins, from the Air Force Weapons School at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., and Capt. Ed Casey, of the 56th Training Squadron at Luke AFB, Ariz., also were selected for two of the demonstration pilot spots.

Returning demonstration pilots include Majs. Rusty Keen, Steve Horton and Brian Farrar.

The U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron is an Air Combat Command unit comprising eight pilots, six of whom are demonstration pilots; four support officers; four civilians; and about 120 enlisted Airmen in more than 29 career specialties.

A Thunderbirds’ demonstration is a mix of six aircraft performing formation flying and solo routines. The four-aircraft diamond formation demonstrates the training and precision of Air Force pilots, while the solos highlight the maximum capabilities of the F-16 Fighting Falcon.

The team's first performance was June 8, 1953, at Luke. Since then, the Thunderbirds have flown for more than 310 million people at 3,944 air demonstrations in all 50 states and more than 60 foreign countries.

The alt right really hates women who serve this country, and/or are successful.

Well, no, Walter.

We just expect them to meet the same rigorous standards that male pilots have.

No downgrading of any of the demonstration flight teams.

Right, Walter?

We just hate you because you are a half-wit.
