I had a bunch of Canadian friends ask me how I could vote for Trump. I explained it this way; that I believe in the concept of liberty and limited Government as spelled out in our Constitution.

They all replied they are for the same thing. :laugh: Leftists actually don't know they are leftists. ;)

Well certain things should be handled by the federal government. Same thing with national security and environmental policies, those should be federal issues.
Surely you don't want the states to handle border security, right?

Apples and oranges. The Constitution gives the Federal government responsibility for national security. It doesn't say a word about paying for your abortions.

Wrong; environmental regulations are not part of Federal purview. You get a "C".

Well I don't care about muh constitution. I just think it makes more sense for the federal government to handle healthcare.

I have a friend originally from CA and that's his excuse for support of all things Democrat. We were debating ObamaCare and I told him "Why force California values on Texas? Would you then support forcing Texas values on California? If Texas is forced to have ObamaCare then California should be forced to allow people to carry guns everywhere."

That changed his mind in support of State's rights lol.

So yeah, the federal government should handle national security, health, and environmental regulations. They should also handle disputes between states. But pretty much everything else should be up to the states. While I do support gay marriage, I think it's wrong that the federal government is forcing all of the states to recognize gay marriages. That should be a state issue.
 
Bloomberg will not be the Democratic nominee, he is too Trumpian for a principled party.

Last i saw Bernie was leading. He is likely going to win. I know Warren, Biden and a couple of others are desperately trying to take him out, but that is how party politics works, It is Bloomberg who is desperate, He and other billionaires figured having a real billionaire and a fake Billionaire facing each other was a win /win. They keep getting tax breaks and eliminating environmental and worker rights. The Dem primaries are going along like they are designed.
