In 2016 the Nigerian Army was accused of human rights violations by Amnesty International. Terrorist suspects were murdered while in detention. Witness report army officials saying “yes we can”.

In 2015 Nigerian soldiers killed members of a Shite Muslim Group. Witnesses report soldiers saying “fired up and ready to go”.

It’s only coincidence they are Obama campaign slogans.

Whether they would have gotten shot anyway or not doesn't change the fact that the Nigerian government quoted Trump and used his comment about treating any rocks that might get thrown by protesters as firearms to justify what they did.

It's not much of a leap to assume Trump's words helped influence the shootings.
