He is an ex-convict. Lot's of people claim to have found God in prison.

I seriously doubt he has any formal religious or theological training at all, either divinity school or seminary.
 
The real crime is a preacher owning 400K worth of jewelry. I believe preachers should receive a honest middle class income but they should not get rich on money that people give for God's work. Christ only owned a robe when he died.

My statement goes for ALL preachers White , Black , Red , Brown , Yellow or Green. You should not get rich on God's money. My denomination pays all preachers the same regardless of the size of their church. They do pay preachers more for the more years they have been a preacher but all preachers with 20 years of service get paid the same etc. None of them are getting rich however. BTW My local church where I grew up in South Texas has been integrated since the 50's so shut up with your Christian racist BS.

Daoism, as practiced by the people who actually invented it in China, operates pretty much as a conventional religion with temples, priests, monks, ritual ceremonies, and a pantheon of gods and divinities.

Not likely but the City itself is very different than from the 80's.

I know nothing about this dude but he could be a hustler (money not coming from the church).
