Blackwater is now Xe, and still in Iraq with no liscence

. .. how about YOU now stop fucking running with the "ad-hom" bullshit and defend Blackwater and demonstrate why they shouldn't be considered a disgrace so I can unload on you and post all the reasons why they should be considered a disgrace .. THUS backing the fuck up what I've said.

Is this all too much for you to handle?

... it is up to you to back up your accusation, not mine to guess at what you are referring to. :D
:D

military force and security is handled by our volunteer armed services. Using civilians in this capacity provides those specific individuals with extra rights and privileges that would not normally be afforded to citizens who are not in that line of work for the government. It creates a 'special' class of citizens with more rights and destroys 'equal protection'. Therefore it is immoral and unethical.

stu's greatest post! :clink:

I will give you some rep points tomorrow, I am out for today.

They're just trying to make a living. Nothing morally wrong with them at all.

If you feel badly about how they are being used, try to get the government to change the rules and stop hiring them. Badmouthing the contractors themselves is just stupid and is no better than insulting the troops for what they do.

Yeah just doing their job...
That is a pathetic excuse.

But you are correct in the solution. Ban all armed contractors/mercenaries in a combat zone.

who was that directed to? I'm not badmouthing the contractors, hell i'm envious of them. I AM badmouthing the government decision and policy to use them though.

Why is that a pathetic excuse? What are they doing wrong? They are performing a legal and legitimate job. If you have a moral problem with it, you can be like the pro-lifers and try to use the gov't to get other people to accept your morality.

Can lickers all!

the democratically elected govt of Iraq wanted them gone a long time ago.

That's fair. I was referring to usc who posted the thread.

Personally, I don't have a problem with using Blackwater or other private security firms. It can be dangerous to give a private firm too much power, but that is nowhere near the most dangerous thing we are doing these days.

It's just really not that big an issue. If we can save the lives of soldiers who didn't want to be in Iraq by replacing them with contractors who know what they're getting into, it is worth it to me.
