It doesn't matter if one ethnic group can be documented to be committing more crimes than another.

If people have the opportunity to attend functional public schools and choose to not go, that's an entirely different story.
If people aren't discouraged from procreating irresponsibly, that's also a story of its own.
If physically and mentally challenged people's needs aren't addressed by society at large, that's yet another story.

These are things that affirmative action addresses, and we could be discussing better ways to do it or we could just ignore the problem.
