There are many reasons for that statistic. Not least because 55% live in the South, over half live in major cities, one third are under the age of 18, only around 8% are over the age of 65 and far fewer are in stable married relationships. Those are FACTS!!

Many black men come from broken homes and have no father figure, they are also less likely to have grandparents and a familial social structure. Given that, it is hardly unsurprising that they end up in gangs and turn to crime. Those are FACTS!!
 
I think the answer is to have diversity in police forces that matches the local demographic.

Good thought but there are plenty examples of black cops doing the abusing.
Clearly the answer is to hold police to a high standard and hold those who manage police culpable.
