This guy's story was absolutely heartbreaking to me. I mean, every loss over the past few weeks has been a tragedy - but what he posted after the initial violence, and his circumstances, and just the kind of person he seemed to be.

His life definitely mattered. Just senseless violence.

Should only police culture change?

Yes. That's the only thing, on any issue, that should ever change, ever.

More dismissive uninspired smart assery. You know I am talking about the police issue, not any issue you disingenuous prick. Can you answer the question an engage in mature discussion or are we to be tortured with the spectacle of your unwitty sarcasms?

Be more specific. What else specifically are you looking to get me to agree to?

Criminal behavior should change. I wish criminals wouldn't commit crimes.

The question is extremely simple. You believe police culture needs to change. Is there any other culture that needs to change in order to try and resolve the issue? I don't understand your hesitancy in answering the question.

I don't see why you can't elaborate. As usual, you clearly have an answer that you'd like me to present. You think the black community needs to change? Are they complaining too much for you?

Obviously, the idiots who advocate violence on any side need to change. No rational people agree w/ that sentiment.

Why can't you answer the question, you obviously know what I am asking by bringing up the black community. Just asking the question and stop beating around the bush. There is the white community, there is the black community, the hispanic etc community, in the police issue these are all seen as cultures and you know this.

I agree that those who advocate violence need to change. But do you see police culture as the only problem?

I see anyone who advocates violence as being another part of the problem. But I don't include BLM in that group, though you're probably looking for me to say BLM.

This sort of belongs more on the Maher thread, but I completely agree w/ what Maher said on that topic. Police culture is a problem, and needs to change. And there are mechanisms to change police culture, in terms of their training and what we accept as a society.

It's a societal problem, so there are other factors, but changing police culture is something that is easier to get a handle on than the rest, and probably will go further than other changes that could be implemented.

what part of society needs to change? or what societal aspect do you believe needs to change?

I don't believe police culture is the only easy culture to change. It is just an easy culture for you to feel comfortable blaming. Everyone else doesn't get a label.

Well, that's why I qualified with "easier to get a handle on." To me, the problems w/ police culture are very visible and identifiable, and also correctable to an extent. I believe the onus is much more on that end of it.

I don't think what I'd call a lot of the "general rhetoric" is helpful, though I get a lot of it. Ultimately, I was just trying to answer Yurt's lame question honestly. I don't think it's ALL on the police.

You can see that yurt really sees himself as, yurt; superstar lawyer!

It's hilarious.

Answer the question Onceler!

Onceler do you deny! Answer the question!

fair enough, for now. what part(s) of police culture do you believe are visible and identifiable enough to be corrected and how?

Fascinating, Smarterthanyou asked the same question and gets an answer. Thing and Darla attack me for the same question because they hate some former poster.

Weak and pathetic.
