Black caucus says it will allow Republicans

huh...it absolutely supports my position and its factual they have been speaking with a monolithic voice concerning the issues regarding african americans...perhaps you should google what monolithic means

their own website say they speak for them, good lord, you really need to calm down when it comes to discussing race issues, everytime you get into a discussion you get extremely upset. and your last sentence is typical of how you end up in these discussions....

seriously, calm down and put away the hate and let's rationally discuss this.

No, the CBC's website and the President of the CBC Foundation's statement do not support your view at all.

The CBC has one voice, the voice of the CBC. It is a single entity. The CBC speaks for the CBC. It does not follow that because the CBC has a monolithic voice speaking for itself that the CBC purports to speak for all black people and that leap that you're making is absurd and, yes, offensive. And the fact that you cannot understand this is why we cannot rationally discuss this.

Absurd to you, but absolutely right....only the truly naive refuse to see whats actually quite obvious to others...
the fact that blacks for these Democrats by a factor of 99.9 to 1 should make that perfectly clear..

this is truly amazing...you're either a closet racist or you're just too stubborn to see any world view other than that which supports your twisted views

once again:

The CBCF provides an African American perspective on public policy through the publication of fact sheets, policy briefs, and policy papers and through periodic policy forums and workshops.

how do they provide the perspective? and what is the perspective? who exactly are they providing perspective for?

now from the chairman:

As Chairman, my top priority is to ensure that CBCF is effectively branded as the premiere organization for advancing the global black community by developing leaders, informing policy, and educating the public. It is important that we tell our story so that the global community understands who we are and what we stand for.

"our story"....the cbc story nigel? who story nigel? who do they claim to speak for?

i find it absurd that you take offense when their own words are there plain as day and require no interpretation other than your absurd world view...

Look, I'm not going to argue with you on this (or, frankly, any other race related subject) any more. How about we agree that, to the extent that the CBC or any of its members purport to speak for all black people, they are full of shit.

Yurt - you're really something else. What is it w/ you & reading?

You ridicule the difference between "an" and "the", but it's pretty definitive. As members of Congress, they are providing AN African-American perspective to PUBLIC POLICY. That's why they are a Congressional Caucus (and not, say, a worldwide African-American caucus).

How is that so impossibly hard to understand for you? This thread is actually a pretty amazing read...

and once again you ignore the debate

didn't think you could address their words....

this isn't rocket science, but you and nigel want to muddy the waters, for what reason i have no idea....they purport to speak about african american issues and their perspective to the GLOBAL community

yeah...they aren't speaking for african americans, nope, not at all

lmao

probably for the best as you can't control your anger when discussing these issues. pity, but i understand.

i never said they speak for all black people, if my words came across like that, it was by mistake, i thought i was careful in not saying that....they purport to speak about the african american perspective and issues to a global community....they are in essence claiming to speak for african americans....of course i wouldn't think they speak for all black people, i've consistently stated they are american reps

You're mixing up concepts. I think on some level, you must know that, but it's probably not a conscious thing.

Again - it's a Congressional Black Caucus. It's not a worldwide African-American Caucus.

Do you know what a caucus is?

? as usual you have no clue what you're talking about

i have never once stated they speak for all blacks world wide, i have repeatedly stated they are us reps....you're the one who has a reading problem and you're just desperate for a win so you make something up

they purport to speak about african american issues

Ha, I think the CBC does have a white member. Check out G.K. Butterfield of North Carolina

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._K._Butterfield

(yes I know he qualifies as black but that is a pretty white looking dude)

apparently the spouse section doesn't think there are any white members or at least the spouses are allowed to be a part of this unless their spouse is an african american member:

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Spouses are comprised of the wives and husbands of the African American members of the United States Congress

I was just joking. By our standards he is a black guy. If you looked at his picture without knowing anything about him you might guess that he is a white guy.

yeah, you're right, they also speak for mexicans.... if they don't speak for blacks in general and they are not for blacks in general....why do they need to have a color based group that singles out solely one skin pigment?

Once again, Yurt starts a thread where he debates with himself.

notice how onceler ran from post 30 and instead blathered about something nonsensical...especially given he actually tried to debate with me and then realized his embarrassing attempt and limped away with his tail between his legs....

:)

I wasn't running from this post; I was responding directly to it w/ your quote from the beginning of the thread.

That's why I said you are debating yourself; as you have done so many times, you are completely contradicting yourself.

You're really dumb.

Then he might want to caucus with the congressional white caucus....

Oh...there is none...I forgot.......a white caucus would be racist...:fu:

typical dishonest onceloer....cherry pick and ignore the fact i've repeatedly said they speak for african americans in general, at least that is what they purport....

its comical how you can view this thread and claim i was speaking about the entire world....when the very post you quoted had me citing them expressly saying african americans....

go ahead and keep bumping this onceler, apparently you're too dumb to realize how stupid you look
