When I hear "buried at sea" I picture a ceremony honoring someone.
I think "dumped in the ocean" would probably be a better way to describe it.

1) According the Islamic tradition, burial should take place within 24 hours
2) By adhering to number 1, it should be seen as 'respecting the religion' despite the coward it applied to
3) It was done at sea so as to prevent Osama's followers from snatching the body and using it for further martyrdom propaganda
4) To have shown the pictures etc... would have been contrary to our position on doing so of the deceased. We made the mistake of doing so with Saddam, to this point we have not done so with Osama, I think it prudent to keep photos to ourselves and to take the higher road. It makes it appear (IMO) as more of 'justice being served' than 'gloating over the death of Osama'. IMO... it marginalizes Osama to a degree and doesn't give him the 'glorification' of having his death photo 'immortalized' if you will.
Just my thoughts.

The Almighty
He was a known enemy of the United States. The fact that we wanted him dead or alive was also known. The fact that we went in and killed him will not shock anyone. It is HOW we conduct ourselves that can potentially make the difference in perception by moderate Muslims. We went in and he was killed. The fact that we respected Islamic tradition for an enemy most certainly will have an impact with the moderates.
