Bill O'Reilly Takes Sudden Vacation. Is He Done?

Bill

Malarkeyville
Last night, Bill O'Reilly announced he was taking a two-week vacation, starting right away, which sparked speculation that he was leaving with some shred of dignity.

In the video above, BillO jovially teases his sudden "vacation," saying it was planned last fall but he's not going to tell anyone where it is. But hey, it's spring break so have fun!

However, Gabe Sherman says things are not well in O'Reilly Factor-land.

Sherman cites four network sources, who say there’s talk inside Fox News that tonight’s show could be his last. He also reports that lawyers hired last summer by 21st Century Fox to investigate Roger Ailes are currently doing an investigation into O’Reilly’s behavior, focusing on sexual harassment claims by O’Reilly guest Wendy Walsh.

Apparently the Murdochs are divided on BillO's fate. According to Sherman, two highly-placed Fox News sources say 21st Century Fox CEO James Murdoch would like O’Reilly to be permanently taken off the air, while his father Rupert and older brother Lachlan are more inclined to keep him.

The guy is bleeding advertisers, has cost the company millions in harassment settlements, and there's disagreement inside the Murdoch family. That sort of tells you everything you need to know about the culture inside Fox News, doesn't it?

Was last night the end for BillO's show? Stay tuned.

Bill O’Reilly is going on vacation and he may never come back
Tonight’s show “could be his last.”

On Tuesday night’s O’Reilly Factor, Bill O’Reilly announced he was taking a vacation. The announcement comes in the midst of a massive advertiser exodus following revelations that he and Fox News paid millions of dollars to five women who said they were sexually harassed by O’Reilly.
O’Reilly said that he booked this vacation “last fall” and that he often takes vacation “around this time of the year.” He is reportedly scheduled to return in on April 24.
But Gabriel Sherman, a journalist for New York Magazine who literally wrote the book on Fox News, reports that “tonight’s show could be his last.” According to Sherman’s sources, lawyers for Fox News “are currently doing a ‘deep dive’ investigation into O’Reilly’s behavior.”
Sherman also reports that James Murdoch, the CEO of 21st Century Fox, wants O’Reilly gone. Murdoch forced out longtime Fox News CEO Roger Ailes last summer over allegations of sexual misconduct.
O’Reilly has not addressed the new allegations of sexual harassment on his show. Fox News, with the exception of a lukewarm statement to the New York Times, has also largely remained silent. Silence, however, has not stemmed the controversy.
So far, at least 77 advertisers have publicly announced they will no longer air commercials during O’Reilly’s show. The number of ads on the show has dramatically declined and large national brands have been replaced with ads for Elvis gospel albums and catheters.

Elvis and catheters...

lol

He might be done. Too bad. I thought he had a pretty good show. A little too much simultaneous jabber though. He alway has opposing viewpoints and sometimes he dissented from right wing rhetoric.
Hannity woulda been a better casualty - he's too partisan.
Who can even stand to watch Madcow? Jeez , I'd think even libs would think she's annoying. Oh yeah, they do. https://www.boston.com/culture/ente...rachel-maddow-for-her-trump-tax-returns-story

Rachel didn't mind.
She's too cool...

I believe 'The Factor' was born during Clinton's admin. I watched often, as he called Clinton out on a lot of shit.

Then I watched him get on his knees, and suck Dubyah's cock during his first interview. That's when I realized he was a Right Wing shill. Sure...he had dissenting opinions on, and talked over them as they tried to answer his moronic questions.

Screw him

Its not the opposing views, its the lies that his disciples believe.
This is quite the conundrum for Fox. Every time Billo rapes/abuses/harasses someone, his ratings seem to go up. But..now that there are no sponsors, he's toast. Fox is going to watch the ratings during the interim, and hope that the new host sticks.

BillO had the biggest ego in all of television...
With the exception, perhaps, of Trump...

I can't wait for his next crappy book "Killing Bill Oreilly"...
LMFAO

So what's better to watch in that genre? Certainly not Hannity or Madcow.
Screw him
I agree. The guy sounds like a real perv if what was said is true. And these settlements weren't with no name fortune seekers.
I've known adult sexual predators and they seem to me to be incurable. They really don't believe they have a problem or do anything wrong right up until they die.

Reminds me of the Bimbo Breakout that followed the Trump audiotape..
As usual all accusations and no proof.
I'm not saying he's innocent (we don't know), but this thing where one woman follows another out looks very political

Republicans are always out there saying well we don't know all 100 accusers are telling the truth when there are allegations of sexual harassment.

Except, for some reason, with regards to Bill Cosby.

So your claim is Republicans believed all of Cosby's accusers? Really?
