GMO is allowed in the UK as long as it is labelled as such, as far as I know nobody has done so because they know it is the kiss of death.

The amazing part is that people are still eating meat. I see people lined up at the drive-thru at McDonalds and Burger King too. Or what about Taco Bell, wtf do you think that is? Although, when I think about it, if Americans will eat hot dogs, let's face it, they'll eat anything.

It should not be necessary for me to keep reminding you that GM foods are not the problem. Horsemeat in burgers is not the problem. Hormones in beef is not the problem.

THE PROBLEM
is very simple but requires that the debate about tainted or mis-labelled food be focussed and that it should include everyone and must be taken out of the political arena.
The problem is that industry, big business, big money, big power call it what you will are TOO FAR down the road towards the control of everything you eat, how healthy or unhealthy you are and the quality of your life, for the subject to be simply debated in some government building.
Monsanto (and the others, but it is convenient, if lazy, to call them by the same name) have as a goal the total dictorship of everyone on the planet. Yes, it sounds crazy and maybe there is a little exageration there. Monsanto aim to CONTROL the food supply by changing traditional methods of farming such that every seed must be purchased every year by already impoverished third world farmers.
Horsemeat entered the food chain because governments, in hock to big money, relaxed controls to allow criminal gangs to CONTROL what you eat.
Hormones in beef and other meat products fatten animals and add weight faster but not necessarily with as much nutritional value as traditional methods of livestock rearing.
THIS CONTROL of what we put on our tables, what we nourish our hard working bodies with, must be stopped.
This is an example of capital trading human lives for profits.
