Washington(CNN)Both of the President and first lady's dogs, Major and Champ, have returned to the White House after spending some time in Delaware following a biting incident involving Major, according to Jill Biden's press secretary Michael LaRosa.

The two German shepherds returned to Washington after Major worked with a trainer at the Bidens' home in Delaware following the incident at the White House.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Wednesday that the dogs joined the first family at Camp David last weekend and then returned with them to the White House on Sunday.

"The dogs will come and go and it will not be uncommon for them to head back to Delaware on occasion as the President and first lady often do as well," Psaki said at a White House briefing.

Psaki had previously detailed the incident and said the dogs were still getting acclimated to their new surroundings at the White House when Major "was surprised by an unfamiliar person and reacted in a way that resulted in a minor injury to the individual."

President Joe Biden told ABC that Major wasn't sent to Delaware because of the incident and that the move was previously planned because he and First Lady were going to be traveling.

"Is Major out of the dog house?" ABC News' George Stephanopoulos asked Biden earlier this month.

"The answer is yes," Biden said. "Major was a rescue pup. Major did not bite someone and penetrate the skin. The dog's being trained now with our trainer at home in Delaware."

Called it. I knew his dogs would soon be back at the White House. Tighten up the training, back they go.

I also knew the supposed “bite” probably wasn’t much more than a nip.

As a dog owner and trainer of personal protection dogs, glad to hear it.

Fuck, even here they refuse to be transparent, they talk around what the dog did.

If the reich wing cannot land body blows on Biden for anything substantive, it comes down to Doctor Sues books and misbehaving puppy dogs.

Good to hear you are a committed dog person. I like dogs more than most humans!

You tried to make a mountain out of a molehill and utterly failed.

This is like my pet peeve of people who lie when there is no apparent reason to lie, it is gratuitous...there is no reason to not tell us what the dog did, it is gratuitous suppressing of the truth.

I’ve also found dog people to be among the nicest and spiritually conscious people I’ve ever met. Spiritual does not imply religion.

Why not just make up and invent whatever you choose to believe. That’s what republicans do.

First of all, you were not a witness to the incident so you cannot conclusively state what happened.

Second, a spooked dog who nips is a molehill, not a mountain.

Third, you obviously have never owned pets or possess the temperament for animals. A dog owner is going to be defensive about their dog, and stick up for their dog. Period, full stop. I find zero fault in Joe Biden defending his dog.
