BIDENFLATION!! Walmart brand eggs now $6 (yes SIX DOLLARS) per dozen!!

And...you cannot compare the quality/flavor of a fresh egg to one from a supermarket.

I don't eat eggs anymore, but many years ago I raised layers and meat birds.

Good food. When I left the mountains it took years for me to be able to eat store bought eggs/chicken.

They're definitely richer and darker. I supplemented their feed as needed. It didn't take much. I tried an autofeeder to limited success.

I also had a goose for about a decade before losing it to a combination of goose dementia and a coyote. She only laid in Spring but the eggs were huge and super-rich. She'd lay 1 every day or two. Never developing a taste for them except occasionally, they ended up with Moms in my gym classes for Easter egg hunts, pre-hard-boiled.

It's about to get even more expensive here in CO as the governor who acted all sane before the election almost immediately signed a law requiring all eggs to be free range eggs just after he was reelected. That wasn't the craziest law he signed but one that definitely points to it... LOL

It's not free range - it's cage free. They can still be housed in buildings but there has to be on average one square foot of floor space for each hen.

Sounds like a good law and not that big a deal. I don't see how it can cause this explosion in egg prices.

Eggs should cost much, much more than that.

The hens are not living in humane conditions.

The extent of under-regulation in our private sector makes us a highly immoral nation at our core.

Wow - for once the negro tranny said something intelligent. I also don't like where eggs and milk and beef and pork come from. These animals have no life.

The most ethical way to get meat is by hunting - assuming you are a good hunter and can kill the animal instantly. Which means guns not bows.

Do humans need meat? I think kids do - adults maybe not.

I seem to remember needing a hammer to crack the goose eggs. The yolk on a fresh egg sits up firmly in the pan, and doesn't break as easily as an older store bought egg.

I used to feed them produce, and the egg shells from their own eggs. I've seen them eat mice that were raiding the feeder. Especially when you have a lot in the same area. They get very competitive for food, and anything that moves is fair game. It's great to see them grazing in the yard, eating tons of insects along the way.

So Biden is responsible for avian flu? Gosh Joe, knock it off, already

Biden is responsible for the highest egg prices in America ever, yes.

Know why? Because he's responsible for the highest fuel prices in America ever. With inflation on top of that.

If he was trying to fuck America up as much as he possibly could; What would he be doing different?

The price on the website is universal, so you fucking lied because you're a lying sack of shit.

You moron. You obviously don't go to walmart. Things like eggs and milk and produce vary from store to store. The two walmarts i've checked in the last week were $5.92. Other walmarts may charge less.

58 million egg-laying chickens died last year from avian flu. That is why the price went up. Why did Biden go state to state killing chickens?

Cage free eggs are more expensive than ones that do not have that designation. I'm just glad that I have my own hens.

I did better, I went to Walmart's website and posted the link showing eggs costing much less than you said, and then you started screaming and whining and oinking and mooing about regional pricing, even though Walmart makes it fucking clear on their website that the price is the price.

YOU FUCKING LIED

The article I saw said the CO law mandates cage free eggs.

That's not the same as free range eggs. I have a choice between buying cage free or free range, and I always buy free range.

Any society that is willing to overlook extreme physical abuse and torture of domestic farm animals is a society seriously in need of moral self reflection.

Yeah, Cage Free. It still will raise the cost of eggs across the state and makes me glad I have my own hens.

I’m guessing he’ll relent on that until the Avian Flu problem passes….or he’ll face the wrath of voters.

OTOH, chickens lay an egg a day. Three chickens would provide my wife and I all the eggs we need. They also eat bugs around the yard so that’s a twofer. I used to have four chickens but lost them to some dogs and, since eggs were cheap, didn’t replace them. I may have to reconsider by Spring.

No, he's term limited. So he gets to act as radical as he wants now. He acted sanely right up to election time, then immediately on being elected, even before being sworn in for the second term he started moving more radically left. It will work too, the next guy will not have to face his record, they didn't do it. They'll act like a Moderate right up until elected for a second term and we will rinse and repeat... This is Colorado Politics.
