President Joe Biden plans to name a new national monument next week after Emmett Till, a White House official told CNN, honoring the Black teenager whose murder in 1955 helped galvanize the civil rights movement.

Biden will designate the monument on Tuesday, which would have been Till’s 82nd birthday.

“The new monument will protect places that tell the story of Emmett Till’s too-short life and racially-motivated murder, the unjust acquittal of his murderers, and the activism of his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, who courageously brought the world’s attention to the brutal injustices and racism of the time, catalyzing the civil rights movement,” a White House official said.

Guano, i thought all you wacko's hated statues.

Emmett Till should have been allowed to try to be somebody

That was robbed of him and our nation by a pack of murderous nobodies

In his short years he was a better human than any of those loser assed men who sunk to murdering a boy to try to feel like men

Is your hatred of Blacks this deep?

No, my total disgust and reviling of the radical Left is that deep. My comment wasn't about the race of the subject, you bigot racist, it was about the purpose of the monument, and the importance of the person it will be dedicated to. Till was all but irrelevant, and this monument is irrelevant. Thus, we shouldn't be erecting it at all.

Funny how you racists claim to hate racism while you spew vile hate on black history

Do you really think it fools anyone?

Till was visiting relatives in Mississippi when Carolyn Bryant Donham said the 14-year-old Till whistled and made sexual advances at her while she worked in a store in the small community of Money.

Till was later abducted and his body eventually pulled from the Tallahatchie River, where he had been tossed after he was shot and weighted down with a cotton gin fan.

Two white men, Roy Bryant and his half-brother J.W. Milam, were tried on murder charges about a month after Till was killed, but an all-white Mississippi jury acquitted them. Months later, they confessed to killing Till in a paid interview with Look magazine. Bryant was married to Donham in 1955. She died earlier this year.
