Biden says Trump echoed Nazis with use of word 'vermin'

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov 14 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday attacked former President Donald Trump for using the word "vermin" to refer to his political enemies, saying it echoed the language of Nazi Germany.

At a recent rally in New Hampshire, Trump repeated his false claim that fraud cost him the 2020 presidential election and told the crowd he would "root out the communists, Marxists, fascists and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country that lie and steal and cheat on elections."

Biden said Trump's comments echoed language heard in Nazi Germany in the 1930's.

"In just the last few days, Trump has said if he returns to office he's gonna go after all those who oppose him and wipe out what he called the 'vermin...in America'... it echoes language you heard in Nazi Germany in the 30s. It isn't even the first time," Biden said at a fundraiser in San Francisco.

"Trump also recently talked about quote, 'the blood of America is being poisoned'... Again, echoes the same phrases used in Nazi Germany." Biden said.

I was a teacher and still work with the schools and a lot of dog rescues... I'm not even close to being one of these "trumpys" you mentioned... I don't have the time or the desire... I do wish for Biden to be gone... he's holding up a lot of progress we could be making...

Do you EVER for even a moment, a second, a single word, even when it is deserved and correct, defend Trump for anything he does or says? If so, you are, by Nordberg's definition, a "Trumpy."

Yes, all that "progress" we could be making destroying things.

Things like the Constitution, the environment, the Earth's atmosphere, European freedom from being under the control of Russia, America's reputation and credibility as a civilized nation...
 
When one tosses around the rhetoric Trump uses often these days you are signaling the end of democracy. When you start classifying any critic or opposition as pure venom and a threat to the country you are basically eliminating any alternative to yourself

The GOP has not been a political entity since the late 1990’s, they have offered little in terms of ideas or policies, moved away from their core principles, and have rather turned into the party that just opposes any ideas or policies anyone else recommends. The election of Obama, for obvious reasons, accelerated this development, and Trump is its end product.
