President Biden directed federal agencies on Friday to go door-to-door in Ohio more than three weeks after the toxic train derailment that has impacted the village of East Palestine.

Teams from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Environmental Protection Agency and Federal Emergency Management Agency will visit residents starting on Saturday, asking how they're doing and what they need, and to connect them with resources from federal and nonprofit organizations.

The "walk teams" are modeled on similar teams following natural disasters.

The president directed members of those teams to get to as many homes as possible, with officials saying the immediate goal was to visit at least 400.

Biden currently has no plans to visit the community.

The order came as House Republicans have opened an investigation into the Feb. 3 derailment and response to the disaster.

Is 3 weeks a long time? I know Fox will claim it was a terribly long time. They are a bit slanted. In the beginning, it was a dangerous and ugly mess. He could not send people into that poisonous area for door-to-door screening.

Screw you nordy, he did nothing to get people OUT of that poisonous area either. Defending Branndon in this case is just plain ignorant.

So the people of Ohio and the State of Ohio do nothing to help its people, they just wait for the government to step in? You of all people who used to demand smaller Federal government.

Biden only did something because it finally sank in to his pea brain that he was taking a lot of negative shit for this disaster, having done nothing. So, now, finally, like with the Chinese balloon he is moving too little, too late on it to make up for his earlier dithering and stupidity.

That "he" (he fronts a revolution, he is President in name only) betrayed that he cares more about Ukrainians than he does about us is devastating.

The MAGA element would have defended Trump if he had pissed on a TV showing the destruction, L.

No MAGA maggot ought ever fault Joe Biden for anything. He is such an improvement over Trump, the idol of MAGA, that there should be nothing but praise for everything he does.

Lets ask you again, is the the job of the government of Ohio to do nothing, and just sit by until the Federal government emerges?

Depends frank.

Biden is many days late and many dollars short with the good people in a red district.

Buttplug is a disaster.

State agencies have been involved; conducted repeated tests of water and air that produced negative results. The linked story also has this:

"The Department of Transportation has noted that the Federal Railroad Administration and Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration were on the ground within hours of the derailment and that the agencies were supporting the investigation being led by the independent National Transportation Safety Board."
