Biden is right: Marijuana belongs in a different category

Too late. Many states have it legal.
It is still against Federal law. It is still illegal and a physician to prescribe it. can lose his FDA licence if he prescribes it because it is still a schedule one drug. That means most Dr. cannot prescribe schedule one drugs legally. And most banks won't give banking accounts for marijuana dispensaries.

Here in Arizona where they've legalized pot, what doctors do for "medical" marijuana--the ones that will prescribe it--is they've turned it into a cottage industry. They charge like $100 to $200 for an initial 'examination,' then charge $50 to $100 for check ups every 90 days to keep the script running. That means they make bank off seeing a 'patient' for all of 5 minutes every three months.

As the medical version is far cheaper than the recreational use stuff many people who want to smoke pot pay the doctor for the script. It's like going to some doctor in say, the 50's to get a prescription for cigarettes might have been if tobacco were treated like pot.

Here in Thailand, cannabis is now legal and there are shops in all the big cities especially Bangkok. Wasn't that long ago that you could be put to death by firing squad for trafficking.

The Department of Health and Human Services has recommended removing cannabis from the federal government’s list of drugs that have “no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.” Known as Schedule I, this group includes substances such as heroin and LSD, bad company to which cannabis, whose recreational and medicinal use is being legalized or decriminalized by many states, no longer belongs — if it ever did. This is a wise and overdue change, which, not incidentally, fulfills one of President Biden’s campaign promises.

How about the government stops worrying about it? Most of them have never dropped acid and can't speak on the topic.

Truck / CDL drivers would be held to that standard. Hell, you get in a serious accident, you're likely to be held to that standard. Anyone doing precision work or working with machinery could be held to that standard. Construction workers hurt on the job could be held to that standard.

That's the whole problem with marijuana. THC stays with you for weeks. In a litigious society like ours, that's a HUGE problem. There is no easy solution either.

The solution is Blood Testing.

Blood testing can only detect THC for 3-4 hours after use.

Now this does change somewhat on Edibles. As it takes a good hour, sometimes more time, for THC from edibles to enter the blood stream.

But no THC is going to emit a high, after 4-5 hours after smoking it or ingesting it.

The only reason why it lingers around in Urine Samples is because THC binds to the fat cells in the body.

But Blood Samples are possible in the field, with just a pin prick to a finger, and smearing it on a test card!

It is hypocritical to have legal recreational alcohol and keep MJ a federal offense.

The Dems have controlled congress for most of the time since 1952, and done nothing on the federal level. The only ones consistently pro legalization have been the conservative libertarians.
