The North Vietnamese did not take south Vietnam until the US decided to voluntarily withdraw. I seem to remember Russia withdrawing from Afghanistan also.

Zelensky cannot afford to buy anything at all- as he has allowed his country to become an insolvent desert of rubble over his NATO ambitions. He will have to repay his debts by giving up elements of Ukrainian sovereignty to Western powers. So even with all the Western weapons in the world- Ukraine will never be free.
