I believe it is desperation. I think there is pure panic in the Trump camp because there is no plan, there are no policies, there is no message. Trump wants to use what worked last time and he’s hoping that like 2016 there will be dirt on Biden, maybe hoping on an October surprise like with Clinton, and that may not happen or be enough.
Anyone who supports a fumbling, bumbling not-bright-to-begin-with-and-rapidly-deteriorating-now pile of corruption who is incapable of speaking a coherent thought without notes or a teleprompter probably should not be bring up "dementia," just sayin'.

If anyone's trying to get out of the debates, it's going to be #TRE45ON's desperate handlers. They know he struggles with words when he doesn't have notes (and often even then). How on Earth is he going to handle answering questions w/o help? His usual bellowing, side-tracking, and stalking around the stage are not going to intimidate Biden any more than they did Clinton.

Biden was a world class gaffer even in his prime. It used to be funny. Joe Biden has always been pretty much useless except as an argument for term limits. But he was a colorful character that could be counted on to provide some humor—sometimes in the most inconvenient ways.
Clean articulate black man was a gem.
It’s actually not so funny any more because he appears to be in decline. Do I even need to say how irresponsible it is for Democrats to try and keep that hidden from voters?
