Let's assume for a moment that Putin becomes desperate and uses several 'tactical' nukes on the Ukrainians (5 to 10 KT-- about 25 to 50% of a Hiroshima sized weapon). Does Biden take us into a nuclear war? That's been Biden's bravado and talk lately. Do you really think the US should get into a nuclear war with Russia over Ukraine? I don't.
Biden is handling the Ukraine situation badly, and it might turn much worse in the near future.

Europe a would be in a panic for sure, but using small tactical nukes would galvanize support for even stronger sanctions, and Putin‘s way out would grow even smaller. The UN would quite possibly send ground troops to Ukraine and end this war. Putin‘s military strength has been shown to be a myth. The Russians might be able to defend themselves on Russian soil, but they do not have the strength or ability or political clout needed to take over any reasonably large nation.
