She's always been the same, I do not feel any need to treat her with any respect.

There are things people can't even imagine yet.
The people arguing that green can never work were also saying computers would never have a practical personal application.
Well, that's certainly a bit of a generalization. And also plenty of ad homs in there.
Tesla won't be around in ten years, it's nearly always the same with early adopters. You think that all you have to is provide more charging stations and that's it. You don't care to find out the true story as it's above your paygrade.
It is likely. As GM's CEO stated in an interview some years ago, Tesla is in a poor market position to compete with other car makers. Why? Because Tesla has a narrow, niche market for their product. A company like Ford, GM, BMW, or Toyota can make a battery car line sell them at a loss and make up for that selling gasoline and diesel vehicles in a broader market.
For example, Toyota, Ford, and Nissan all sell pickup trucks and SUV in Second and Third World nations by the gazillion. The Toyota Hilux pickup is probably the most popular Third World vehicle in existence. Regardless of what nations like the US do, those trucks are going to be powered by gasoline or diesel for decades to come and Toyota will continue to sell them regardless of what the EPA or California want.
On the other hand, Tesla won't sell more than a mere handful, if that, of its battery cars in such nations. Nobody in say, India is going to buy one.
So, these other manufacturers can undercut Tesla on two fronts: First, on the pricing of their vehicle, and second on marketing one that isn't restricted by "Right to Repair." That is, they can afford to sell a battery vehicle at cost or a loss because it makes up only a small fraction of their net sales, and at the same time they can forego Musk's high level of technical complexity coupled with a refusal to let owners fix their own damn cars.
It doesn’t matter. If that’s what they want and there is enough of them and their motivated have one and are willing to spend the money then it will happen.
God Bless President Biden
The gas car is dead. Long live the EV.
The fuel of the future is electric, according to Secretaries of Energy and Transportation, Jennifer Granholm and Pete Buttigieg, who say they want to make it easier to come by.
The Biden administration announced Thursday that a portion of $5 billion of federal funding, over five years, is available to states that have a plan to upgrade or create new electric vehicle charging stations.
It’s part of the bipartisan infrastructure law, signed late last year. Each state must apply in order to receive a portion of the funding.
“This is about making sure everybody can get in on the EV revolution, it’s already happening, but we have to make sure that it’s made in America; that everyone benefits from cities to rural areas,” said Secretary Buttigieg.
Eventually, the administration says they want to expand charging in rural and underserved areas, but this round is intended for infrastructure along interstate highways or alternative fuel corridors.
“We want people to not have range anxiety, then we focus on areas where we haven’t seen a big uptake in electric vehicles. Maybe they are in urban areas. It might be poor communities,” said Granholm.
Electric vehicles made up less than 3% of new auto sales last year. Though that number is expected to increase within the next decade, Granholm acknowledges one significant roadblock: the cost.
“This is exactly why the president has pushed, as part of the Build Back Better agenda to have tax credits for the purchase of electric vehicles, both new and used ones,” Granholm said.
Absolutely, and where is the media uptick on President Biden's approval rating in this regard, or is still a tRump ass kissing love affair from the sewer?
Nothing. Let them throw their hats in the ring.
Did the government attempt to force people to abandon their existing technologies when "the TV and computer" came along?
in other words, lets let po folks pay for something only rich folks can use.
there is no constitutional basis for this even with the misrepresented general welfare scam.
whichis to say, let them eat cake.
No, but they're involved in ensuring that we have the opportunity for life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness.
The government provided the internet at the beginning, until the private sector was able to come along. TV's use government licensed airwaves. Actually, the government did require people to switch to digital broadcast TV, when that came along.
When you become an adult, maybe you will understand some of this.
Here's a site that lists the current (supposed) ones. Point out which ones aren't accounting tricks used by any business, like depreciation of assets, or ones that are related to government policy and research efforts...
Intangible Drilling Costs Deduction (26 U.S. Code § 263. Active). This provision allows companies to deduct a majority of the costs incurred from drilling new wells domestically. In its analysis of President Trump’s Fiscal Year 2017 Budget Proposal, the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) estimated that eliminating tax breaks for intangible drilling costs would generate $1.59 billion in revenue in 2017, or $13 billion in the next ten years.

As to the old batteries, check with Tesla, they have it all planned out. Where else does electricity come from?
What strip mining, be specific!!
I LOVE EV's.
But this is nothing but bullshit politics to make Biden look greener that will only help the wealthier Americans.
The cheapest EV with a 200+ mile range in America costs almost $32,000.

Few in the lower classes can afford and/or justify paying that much for a new car.
And before you say something ignorant like 'the poor can buy a used EV and just replace the battery pack'?
No...they cannot.
'The current list price of a Bolt EV HV battery pack is $15,734.29 and the part number is 24285978.'

This Biden plan is nothing but tree huggers, PR bullshit that will benefit (practically) only wealthier Americans.
Nice try, McBlockhead.
Average New Car Price Tops $47,000 By Sean Tucker -Kelly Blue Book 01/14/2022 8:28am
The average price Americans paid for a new car topped $47,000 for the first time in December.
If The cheapest EV with a 200+ mile range in America costs almost $32,000, then it sounds like a great deal to buy an EV.
Thanks for the info, McBlockhead. I'll tell all my friends to buy EVs. Maybe I'll buy some more for my wife and kids since they're so inexpensive and cheaper to drive and maintain.
Obviously, poor Americans are not going to buy the 'average priced new car'.
They are going to buy the cheapest new cars or used cars.
DUH!!!
Like the $13,600 Chevrolet Spark.
