Biden Going to Texas!

They haven’t even turned over their guns and the people of Texas are already suffering severe consequences, their kids are being murdered in mass.
Firearms seizures are the end goal.

And the kids are being murdered by psychopaths. You attack the problem at that level, not the firearms level.

Saying that you believe someone is racist does not make YOU a racist. The racists here on JPP try that reverse psychology tactic all the time. It fails all the time too.

We are nothing but small towns here, but even so the cop depts. have training in how to neutralize a threat at the schools. Every time there's a reported threat, the news interviews various police dept. heads and they bring that up. As you can imagine there was a lot of coverage of how they are trained and what they will do following the aftermath of that school shooting in downstate MI last year.

I don't understand why the local cops in Uvalde wouldn't let the border patrol guys in.

Agreed. What makes him racist is that he's assuming all the cops were the white, male gay-bashers he's used to seeing....maybe in the back of a patrol car. IDK.

Having seen a lot of cluster fucks in my time in both the military and civilian worlds, my best guess is a lack of training, coordination and professional leadership is the major problem. As for small towns across America; little plans on paper don't equal training and one training briefing a year doesn't equal annual exercises including Command & Control with Federal agencies, esp. DHS.

For them, it came down to a coin toss on what those who had jurisdiction** were going to do. Would you rush into a barricaded building thinking there was a 50/50 chance you'd end up getting a lot of innocent people killed playing "John Wayne"?

Something like this headline?:

"Today Officer Ramon "John Wayne" Hernandez rushed into the building causing the terrorist to detonate 20 pounds of C-4 killing him and everyone in a 200 foot radius"

**My understanding is that it was the jurisdiction of the Uvalde PD and the officers on the scene were likely waiting for orders. Hanlon's Razor applies.

Assumption on your part. I called him out for assuming all the cops there were racist whites and didn't act because most of the students were Hispanic. We don't know about Lurch's background or experience. We just know what he says.

Very true.

Obviously I am not a cop but yes, if that was my job, I would go in and try to stop the massacre. If there's a bomb, there's a bomb. The odds are pretty high that there is no bomb. That's very atypical of American mass shooters.

You'd John Wayne it now knowing if you were doing more harm than good? I'm certain that's what was on the UPD officer's minds. Notice it was the CBP who led the charge. Someone got permission.

Regardless of our 20/20 hindsight, the facts will be found and revealed. At the moment I see a lot of ass-covering by officials.

Remember My Lai when all the blame was put on 2LT Calley? Calley went to Officer School in March 1967. My Lai () was a year later a few months after Tet in March 1968.

Like Uvalde, I think My Lai was partly due to a failure of leadership from above long before the day of the massacre itself. Like 2LT Calley, I expect all the blame to be put on the UPD officers while their leaders wash their hands of it.

He needs to stay home....it's not his job to bring all that chaos to the community...his message to the country certainly wasn't helpful...why would it be helpful to repeat in person? They don't even want the media there right now...
Be honest...this just isn't the time....

Our President, comforting the grieving.

Now you know why we threw out the rotten orange and chose instead a decent, caring man.
