Biden FBI / DOJ arrests reporter for reporting on Jan 6

Well, now the DOJ and FBI are going after journalists and the media they don't like. The FBI arrested a reporter that did nothing but report on Jan 6. But that reporter works for the Blaze very much an anti-Biden rightwing outlet for news. Guess Biden can't have anyone dissing him...

Baker, an investigative reporter for conservative news outlet Blaze Media, was taken into FBI custody on Friday for his reporting of the Capitol Riot on January 6, 2021.

Are you sure he did "nothing but report?"

You may want to give this one another go, with an honest post of why he was arrested, and what the charges are.

Yep. All the media outlets reporting on this are saying just that. His being conservative and present are why he was arrested.

That story says nothing about him being arrested for his reporting. Instead, he was arrested for "Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Ground, Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building, and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building."

Nope.

Maybe a little more research would help?

If I'm starting a thread, I generally check into the facts about something first.

I did check the facts, with multiple sources. He's being charged with the usual misdemeanor nonsense about trespassing, being present, and that sort of thing. Interesting that they singled him out of all the reporters and journalists present for 'special' treatment don't you think? If he's guilty of what was charged, then EVERY journalist and reporter present is too. Don't hold your breath for anyone from say, CNN getting charged...

That is using what's called "color of law" to do the dirty work. For example, CNN reporter Daniella Diaz was present on Jan 6 and inside the Capitol building. I'm not holding my breath that she's going to get charged like Baker did. After all, CNN is friendly to the régime.

Color of law defined if you aren't familiar with the term.

Did nothing?

”facing charges of Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Ground, Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building, and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building.”

“The only thing I regret is that I didn’t, like, steal their computers, Baker said, according to the affidavit. Do I approve of what happened today? Baker said in another interview on Jan. 6, according to the FBI filing. "I approve 100%."

Trying to hide behind the fact he has quasi credentials as a journalist, also lead singer in a tribute band, Beck is just pimping the arrest for attention

Misdemeanors are misdemeanors. They are integral to the rule of law. There is nothing "nonsense" about them.

But thank you for admitting that your OP was a dishonest portrayal of what happened.

Baker turned himself in and is charged with the same four misdemeanors as other insurrectionists.

Then they should start arresting journalists, like Daniella Diaz of CNN, for doing the exact same thing. But you and I know that isn't going to happen.

There is no doubt we live in a police state. Julian Assange is being extradited to the US for publishing the crimes of our overlords, yet we sit here day after day arguing over which 80-year-old man should be potus where our policies are made by multinational corporations.

We got the government we deserve.

Wild speculation on your part with no evidence.

Not the point of the exercise. He shouldn't have been charged unless you are charging each and every journalist present with that riotous mob. But you can bet your ass they aren't going to go after any reporters that are friendly to the Biden regime.

There is no charge for "being present".
