Also the refusal to testify could factor in to how quickly the DOJ files actual charges to get to the bottom of the issue as you see with the people refusing to testify on the Jan. 6 committee.

Compare the difference:

The Jan 6 committee was wholly Democrats with two token Republicans who were the most virulent against Trump added in by the Democrats. Today, you have a committee composed of Democrats and Republicans in the usual way proceeding in the usual way. The Democrats are free to question witnesses, present documents, etc. None of that--let me repeat that--NONE OF THAT was allowed by the Jan 6 committee. It was a one-sided proceeding with a fig leaf of being bipartisan when nothing could have been further from the truth.

I know the Left is hysterical over this, but their chosen leader appears to be an utterly corrupt, on-the-take, pseudo-Mafioso, who headed a major crime family. Go ahead and prove me wrong on that. Show where the evidence, to date, doesn't point to that.

My claim was that it gives the house broader powers in their investigation.

Which it does.

While they are not legal rules they are still broader powers.

Allowing a committee to subpoena without the vote of the full House is definitely a broader power.

It means that the opposing party no longer have the ability to block the subpoena.

Committees issue subpoenas dimwit. And an inquiry has the same authority as any other committee to collect evidence. Damn, learn something.
