Marty Walsh's phone was ringing off the hook Tuesday night with congratulatory calls pouring in from Minneapolis to the White House.
The only problem was the target of the calls wasn't that Marty Walsh.
State Rep. Marty Walsh won the first open mayoral race in 20 years last night to become the next mayor of Boston, but when the White House, Vice President Joe Biden, the mayor of Minneapolis, and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz were looking for someone to congratulate, they called political consultant and former Edward Kennedy staffer Marty Walsh instead.
“We've had this for the past 20 years happening back and forth. Marty tells a funny story from 2006 when Kennedy thanked me from the stage and his mother thought it was for him,” said non-mayor-elect Walsh.
A White House operator phoned Walsh after the race was called for the other Walsh to set up a call with the president, and Walsh, who was watching the returns at home on television, had to explain that they had the wrong Marty.
Then the phone rang again, and it was Biden himself on the phone. “You son of a gun,” Biden started in on the call, before being informed that it wasn't the former Kennedy staffer he knew that had been elected mayor. Schultz left a message of Walsh's phone, and the Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, a graduate of Boston College, called to congratulate.
Walsh, who owns his own consulting company called Gateway Public Solutions, laughed off the confusion. “If you need a reservation in the city of Boston, I can probably get you any reservation you want,” he said

They can't even get a simple phone call correct and yet we are supposed to believe they can run Obamacare.....
