President Joe Biden on Sunday claimed he attended a black Church in Delaware every morning after he attended Catholic Mass in high school.

“I may be a practicing Catholic, we used to go 7:30 am mass every morning in high school and college before I went to the black church,” he said. “Not a joke.”

Biden spoke about his personal experience with the black church during a visit to the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia to recognize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. day.

I used to go to a black-operated rib joint on Columbus Avenue at least once a week when I lived near downtown.
The chicken wasn't bad there either. Quite good, in fact. As good as the ribs.

And yet, nobody starts threads about it.
Should I feel slighted?

And which "people of color" count for seeking credit?
I've spent enough at the Kowloon Chinese restaurant on Route 1 to fund a university in Shanghai.
It's better than the ones in Chinatown proper, if you can believe it.

How about some credit for promoting our Asian neighbors?

He did also go to synagogue Friday night for sabbath services


“I probably went to shul more than many of you did,” Biden told the crowd, referencing his many visits to Beth Shalom, a Conservative synagogue in Wilmington, Delaware, Biden’s hometown. He said he’d go to services on Shabbat, and then, as a practicing Catholic, go to church on Sunday.

“Y’all think I’m kidding. I’m not,” he added as the crowd chuckled.

“Over the years, we’ve shared deep conversations about faith and finding purpose,” he said of his ties to Beth Shalom. “And they have always, always, always been there for my family — in the good times and not so good times.”

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff introduced Biden and mentioned his own Rosh Hashanah traditions growing up, which included a trip to his grandmother in Brooklyn. “I can still smell that brisket cooking — and burning — in the kitchen,” he said. “I can still taste the slightly warm challah, but slightly stale, on the table.”

Next Sunday somebody needs to hack the bulletin at Ebeneezer Baptist and publish the quote he made about not letting his kids go to school with the black kids. He called it a “jungle”.

The politicians aren't making their stuff in China--the corporations are.
That's who to blame, not the politicians in their pockets.

As for the Clintons, I don't like them much more than you do.

I DID vote for them three times in general presidential elections because they were running against--do I have to say it?--republicans.

I have no reason to disparage Diesel that comes immediately to mind, so there, I don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

As for hiring people, if I were in a position to hire people, I would hire the most capable people that I could afford to hire, like any other competent employer.

But my post had nothing to do with hiring people.

Though increasingly whites are not allowed in POC spaces, and when they are they are either not allowed to speak or can only speak if they are "allies"....which means that they say only what they are told to say. It is no different than how n***ers were once treated, we have just reversed who is victimized....we have learned nothing.

This is a real problem for progressive, and it does not end well.

I don't know what POC spaces are. I can buy soul food and Chinese food anywhere the fuck I want in the city of Boston, assuming they've got it to sell.
The Korean lady who does my shirts and dry cleaning couldn't be more welcoming, nor can the one who does my wife's nails.
My Pakistani Muslim primary care doctor has worked hard to keep me alive since she was a young girl thirty-odd years ago,

The other side of the coin applies as well.

Despite our reputation as a racist city, undeserved but that's another story,
I have never been in an establishment run by melanin-deprived people like myself who refused to cater to those who weren't.
In Florida, when I was a kid vacationing with my parents, yes, but not in Boston, thank you very much.

What the Chinese got for greasing the Clinton's was an easing of export restrictions on a bunch of rocket guidance systems and technology they desperately wanted for their military ICBM program for example.

Biden has a tell when he is lying. He frequently adds " not a joke" when he is telling a lie. He does not always add it when he lies but when he does add it you can bet it is a lie.

I like Soulman's BBQ it is Black owned. I haven't found a really good Chinese Restaurant near me. But I keep looking.
 
On the bright side, one of MLK's children's wives had a birthday and Brandon serenaded her with his version of Happy Birthday.
