Solar and wind certainly are not. Natural gas is a great bridge to nuclear and should remain as a secondary source for peaking and other intermittent loads. Solar and wind should be entirely abandoned.

No, the US gets very little oil from Venezuela. There has been an embargo in place since 2019 and Biden (stupidly) has removed those in favor of cutting domestic production. But even so, Venezuela is currently supplying far less than a million barrels a year and there are few US refineries that can handle Venezuelan crude.

The US air force is dependent on Venezuela oil. Dirty crude is made into jet fuel. Koch industries owns the refineries and ordered the coup to install Juan Guaidó. Trump and Biden both work for Charles Koch. The entire US government works for Charles Koch.

The United States never was an empire. It was a federated republic.
Nothing wrong with coal, oil products (including diesel and gasoline), natural gas, nuclear, hydroelectric, solar, or wind. They each have their uses and they each have their disadvantages.

Let people buy what they want for their energy.

Obviously you have no idea how different oil products are obtained. You have no idea what jet engines use for fuel, either. You don't even have any idea of oil markets.

NO oil product is a 'byproduct' of any other oil product. Jets generally use kerosene, not diesel oil. Most other aircraft use gasoline. The US no longer exists. Oil products are not imported from Venezuela. The CIA is trying to overthrow Maduro to stabilze the region and remove a dictator from power.

All the refineries in the States can handle sour crude. It's an extra step though, which is why they prefer processing sweet crude.
