If 1,254 miles of wall wont stop or slow them down ...whats 20 going to do?
 
Trump had the plan correct. When the traveling hordes were marching through Mexico, he called the Mexican president and asked them to stop them at their southern border. Mexico balked. Trump called again and threatened he would impose a tariff on everything that came out of Mexico into the US. End of conversation. The flow immediately slowed.
The wall will not keep everybody out but it is at least a clear definition of where the border actually is located. I have no problem with armed troops protecting our border, in fact much prefer that to having them doing the same in some other part of the world.

The area where they're filling in the gap between existing walls is considered a hotspot, maybe THE hotspot for illegal entry.

If they put the wall there, I guess it will slow down the crossings by making it more difficult.

The border is 2,000 miles long.

It was never a realistic goal to cover the entire border.

Any gaps would have turned into hot spots.

No, he's building an unnatural, manmade barrier somewhere near the border... he can't build a "wall" he's promised not "one more foot" of "wall" will be built.

I wonder if he wishes he hadn't sold the material stored to continue the build at a cut rate in order to ensure that congress couldn't force him to build the wall?

In 2020, Mr Biden promised he would not build another foot of wall if elected. His administration passed a proclamation soon after taking office that said building a wall across the southern border "is not a serious policy solution".

You can not make this stuff up.
