President Biden said his proposed budget will save the federal government $160B over 10 years by allowing Medicare to negotiate the prices of more drugs.

The president added that the budget allows Medicare to negotiate drug prices more quickly after launch compared to current policy.

Biden appears to be picking up where he left off with drug pricing reforms included in the Inflation Reduction Act passed in 2021.

Did he say anything about raising taxes? And what is it with that “negotiation” BS? You got der tater-fuhrer in the driver seat! He’s a fucking dick-tater for Pete’s sake! He should just dictate to big pharma what he will pay and what they will accept! Where did the whole concept of “allowing” some government entity to negotiate anything? The government negotiates contracts every day for virtually every thing they use. Somebody should just negotiate.

Have you heard Nikki Haley’s plan? It’s pretty much the same old stuff too, except it’s good.

What if the pharmaceutical industry doesn't play along? What if they instead simply refuse to sell the drugs to Medicare patients at all. This could be particularly true if they thought they were losing money on the sale. Now what? Does the government step in and Socialize these companies? Does it step in and force them to sell them at a loss?
