bho's birth certificate revisited

Your grasping at straws, Damo. http://www.monacome.com/2008/11/us-presidential-election-results-tally.html

If it were reversed you'd be telling me the same thing. The neocon driven GOP got whupped in a fair fight. The only thing that's going to resurrect the GOP is if Obama fails at every turn and the "waterloo" agenda works in Congress, or they dump the neocon agenda and get back to good old Republican values. But that's just my opinion.
Again, I am not "grasping" at anything. I recognize that we lost. I am still encouraged by the fact that 47% of the nation did not vote for the guy during the perfect storm. Seriously I thought this would be a Reagan moment for the Ds, only one state going McCain.

And McCain was one of the crappiest candidates ever. Old man whistle, shuffle, wandering around aimlessly during debates...

I couldn't believe that he got as many votes as he did. (Mine wasn't one of them.)

I fully recognize that the GOP lost, and expected it, I just see a silver lining, even if you want to try to discourage me or change my mind.

Carter, as I recall only lost by 9% points. McCain lost by, what, 7%? And McCain had to run against his own party. And Carter would have pulled the margin closer, if John Anderson hadn't run, since Anderson bled off liberal support from carter. What do you think McCain would have gotten if he had strongly aligned himself with the republican party? The party of Bush, Cheney, John Boner, and Tom Delay. I'm guessing about 30%.

But, whatever. Its just bitching about arithmetic. If you want to think the republican party, in its modern form, the form its had for the last 20 years, is viable, more power to you
As I've said repeatedly I still see a silver lining. Carter lost hugely in the electoral college and 2 percentage points is markedly better in politics today. Considering the huge amount of people that came out to vote, the perfect storm for the Ds, and the amazingly crappy candidate we had, we made a far better showing than I feared we would, and I find that encouraging, even if you want to try to make it something that I shouldn't be encouraged about.

I wouldn't want to change the results, a 6 point loss when I expected 11... I'll take it.

Cypress already put that in perspective. I provided proof that you were wrong regarding the electoral vote. Your silver lining is essentially wishful thinking...but hope does spring eternal, and like I said before, if the "waterloo" attitude keeps going and Obama fails at every step, you may have your wish. Personally, I don't see that as win for the average joe.

Nobody can "prove" or "disprove" my encouragement. That's just inane.

You can feel as impervious as you wish. I still see possibility when I thought we'd be further down than we are.

One thing I know, if the religious people take back over I'm likely to just register Libertarian and get it over with.

You can feel as impervious as you wish. I still see possibility when I thought we'd be further down than we are. I don't....I just pointed out that if things go as planned by the neocon faction of the GOP, you will inadvertently get your wish for a Republican victory in 2012...but I don't think you'll be happy about the circumstances.

One thing I know, if the religious people take back over I'm likely to just register Libertarian and get it over with.

I hear that!
