I am not advocating what you claim.

I never said only Texas.

The only reason I limited my discussion to Texas is because that is the evidence this thread is based on.

The Texas government is not being responsible to democracy.

I am sure that's also going on in other States.

That's why I oppose the SCOTUS decision overturning the Voting Rights amendment which allowed the federal government to regulate State voting laws to make sure voting was equally accessible to everyone, which it clearly is not in Texas.

And other States. (which is not the topic of discussion in this thread)

Does the Texas government tell the voter and give them a chance to make it conform to their stringent requirements?

Investigative journalists did not bring anyone to justice as a result of 2 impeachments where the GOP basically ok'd criminality, as long as it's being done by one of them.

Had Biden talked to Ukraine about help with his election, the GOP would still be talking about it 100 years from now..

Republicans will run on whatever kooky theory supports their bias. That doesn't mean that if investigative journalism exposure of their dirty deeds doesn't end it that the investigative journalism should stop.

And once in a while the cows do some back to the barn.

Look at what investigative journalism did to Nixon.
It prevented the remainder of his second term.

It can prevent Trump's second term, too. We can't give up.

You singled out Texas. You're smart enough to know the difference between advocating election reform, protecting the rights of all Americans and our unalienable rights versus attacking a single party or a single state as you and I have discussed before.

Why investigative journalism worked with Nixon is that there were still Republicans back then that agreed in country over party. Those Republicans are gone. The only way we'll ever expose Republican wrongdoing is through bi-partisan hearings run like the J6 is doing. Just the facts.

No. I have a problem with using Voter ID as a back door poll tax. In this case, I'm good with it. If a person is too fucking stupid to fill out a simple form, they shouldn't be voting.

In fact, if it was up to me, to register to voter, a person has to pass a citizenship test, an IQ test of at least 100 and a sanity test for a 5 year national ID card with picture. Sound good? Renewals require the same checks.

Looks like TX is cracking down on bullshit mail-in ballots. Good on them. Hopefully, other states will take the cue and follow suit. Thanks for the heads up.

Beto is upset that the state of Texas rejected 13% of the mail-in ballots received because for one reason or another they didn't meet the state's legal requirements for acceptance.
Shouldn't he be arguing for improving voter understanding of how to fill these ballots out correctly rather than for lowering or eliminating those standards altogether? But then again, he is a Democrat and as such is likely of the opinion that ALL ballots should be counted regardless of how fouled up they are, how questionable their origins are, whether they followed whatever legal procedures were in place. For him, it seems it's "Just count them all!"

Talk about an advocate for voter fraud...

Partially true. He believes the election was fair but is distressed that 13% of Texans couldn't vote because they didn't properly fill out the form.

There's pros and cons to that story. While I don't have a problem with IQ tests for voting, I do have a problem when only certain groups are targeted. A poll tax is wrong. Disenfranchising Americans by race or income is wrong.

a. idiot voter cant fill out a simple form to save themselves the bother of turning up on election day
or
b. the entity looking to cast fraudlient votes didnt do their homework.

either way, nothing like a poll tax.
