Bernie wins New Hampshire!

They just don't want to admit that the conventional wisdom that they've used to guide their political decision-making has been a giant miscalculation.

or they've been secret internationalist fascist the whole time.

globalism is inherently elitist and corporatist. knowing this, they try to make it about fighting racism and bizarre new pc phobias. that's all bullshit.

True Democratic political decision making should be based upon who is actually fighting for the issues which will promote policies that improve life for the average American and uphold The Constitution. If a candidate is not talking about the rampant corruption and getting the money out of politics, they are not there for anyone other than themselves and their puppertmasters. A no brainier! Corporate media has done a bang-up job of brainwashing these folks into not believing their own eyes and ears.

No, I think what it is is that they've been so used to being accommodated, being fought over, having their egos stroked for so long, that the moment someone comes along that doesn't make them feel good about themselves, they get defensive and evasive.

It's an ego thing.

It's a courage thing.

Confronting hard truths about yourself isn't easy for anyone; but some handle it with more grace than others.

I think you're seeing that play out on this thread.

Right on. Nailed it.

that too.

if we can change minds we can have elitists competing with each other to be more populist, but not in a simplistic, statist, tax and spend way.

I don't think there's ever a chance any "elitist" (e.g. rich person, 1%er, CEO) would ever try to be more genuinely populist and not try to enrich themselves and their friends/allies.

I think we need to listen to the people at the bottom, not the people at the top. And the people at the bottom are showing their support for Sanders. So, I'm going to listen to them.

evil is not in a class. there are good rich people, and shitty poor people.

The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either - but right through every human heart - and through all human hearts. This line shifts. Inside us, it oscillates with the years. And even within hearts overwhelmed by evil, one small bridgehead of good is retained. --alexander solzhenitsyn. a russo bot hole.

Go Bernie.

Perhaps you will get another 600k home...his fourth?

He has done quite well under Capitalism Multi-millionaire, multiple homes...

The old fanatical Socialist, Bernie, isn't even a Democrat. He just runs for president as one and when defeated, reverts back to an Independent.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is rising in the polls among Democrats, but questions about his electability against President Trump persist because he self-identifies as a democratic socialist.

A new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll backs up the idea that the label could hurt him.

Asked about their impression of socialism, only about a quarter of Americans (28%) said they have a favorable view, while almost 6-in-10 (58%) said they had an unfavorable impression.

Poll: Sanders Leads The Field, Bloomberg Qualifies For His 1st Debate
If socialism is so unpopular with Americans, how can Sanders be on the rise in the Democratic primary? Because Democrats and, more specifically, progressives view socialism favorably. Half of Democrats said so, while more than two-thirds of progressives did.”

Just 23% of independents, though, and 7% of Republicans viewed socialism favorably.”

"But again, socialism is far less favorable than capitalism in the country as a whole. In the NPR poll, among Americans overall, just 28% had a favorable view of socialism compared to 57% who had a favorable view of capitalism.
Among Republicans, 76% held a favorable view of capitalism compared to 7% who felt favorably about socialism.
And, among independents -- who may or may not decide the next presidential election -- it was 23% who had a favorable view of socialism compared to 59% who had a favorable view of capitalism."

Go, Bernie!

Ehhhhhh, I don't know about that. Feels a lot like "very fine people" when you say there are some "good rich people". I don't really believe that. I know Tom Steyer has donated tons of his wealth, but he's still a billionaire, and billionaires are still pieces of shit.

I don't think people are inherently good. I think being good is something you have to work to do.

re:very fine people at the free speech rally. is it possible he wasn't referring to antifa or kkk?

We know who he meant...there's no point in pretending otherwise. We knew exactly who he was talking about, and why he said what he said. He counts Nazis as his allies and he didn't want to alienate them, which is why he legitimized them with the whole "very fine people oN bOtHsIdEs" thing. It's not that subtle a rhetorical trick.
