Ben Carson compares some refugees to 'rabid' dogs

why do you have a hard time understanding simple English....

"Ben Carson on Thursday compared safeguarding Americans from Islamic terrorists who may sneak into the country as refugees to parents protecting their children from rabid dogs."

he plainly said ISLAMIC TERRORISTS....not all Mulsims....not all immigrants, not all Islamic people.......ISLAMIC TERRORISTS.....

ISLAMIC TERRORISTS are like rabid dogs....they are worse than rabid dogs.....they are like mid-evil barbarians....and even that description in being kind.

The Republican front-runner said it would be "foolish" to welcome Syrian refugees without systems in place to thoroughly vet them.

is that not plain enough for you.....what about that statement do you not understand >?\\

I understand that you don't smear an entire group when you don't even know if it contains a terrorist. His implication is that there are going to be terrorists mixed in with Syrian refugees.

And I also understand that Carson's comment re: vetting is a boldfaced lie. ALL refugees are vetted, no matter which country they came from.

You're as big an idiot as Carson if you don't understand that.

Why don't you just take his EXACT words as he spoke them and stop looking for what you imagine he 'implies'....

The only group he talked about in the context of 'rabid dogs' was Islamic terrorists....if you don't think Islamic terrorists act somewhat like rabid dogs, fine with me...

He did not say of imply that Syrian refugees were not vetted....he plainly said " it would be "foolish" to welcome Syrian refugees without systems in place to thoroughly vet them.

and EVERYONE, left, right, Republicans and Democrats AGREE with that...so where the hell do you see a lie....Congress just passed, in a bi-partisan vote, that very thing.

Obamas own FBI and homeland security agree that vetting is absolutely necessary and that their ability to do it is not perfect .....

They are catching Syrians right now at the southern border seeking entry....

Why read things that aren't there? The only liar here seems to be you....you have your own spin zone to twist what people say to fit your own biases...

Yes, and we have been all along. Pretending otherwise in a bid for votes from hysterical xenophobes is incorrect.

Who is it that is pretending we haven't been vetting them?

I think part of the problem is in wording... Obama said he would bring in 10000 this year. The vetting process is 18-24 months. So there is a discrepancy there if the 10000 aren't already in the process of being vetted. Given the long term nature of the war in Syria, I would imagine there are at least 10000+ in the vetting process already.

Idiots trying to pretend Carson was calling all Syrian refugees 'rabid dogs' are simply wrong... and probably racist too. They don't like the black Republicans much.

You're funny. Amusing is you righties thinking your candidates are immune to criticism.

Nah, Carson should be better prepared. My point is that choosing between a candidate who is weak on names is better than one who gets the names right; but whose assumptions about how to deal with an Iran or a Putin are fundamentally wrong.

Assumptions tend to be clung to whereas names and places can be learnt a few days. A brain surgeon can do it in an afternoon.

I did change one word but the bolded above is so true and so obvious.

Well, I tried to change one word.

Who is the "they"?

Most liberals with any political clout. Be it candidates or pundits. Especially those in the media. Let a black conservative start gaining ground and what happens? It seems there is an immediate attempt to discredit. [WHAT IS BEFORE THIS IS PRETTY MUCH FACT...WHAT FOLLOWS IS STRICTLY MY OPINION] I think there is a real fear among the left, especially the far left, that if a black, conservative candidate were to achieve national prominence that several people of color would ditch the liberal, democratic candidate in favor of the more conservative candidate. Most of my friends of color think so too. We just had a support Carson meeting at a Waffle House this morning in Arkansas as we are on the way to Kentucky and discussed this very thing. There were about 15 of us. Only three of us were "white." But we're gaining some ground among conservatives, showing Trump to be the blow hard that he is and promoting Carson as a viable option instead of Hillary.

So you feel that scrutinizing a candidate's statements and discrediting them when they are inaccurate is racist, as long as said candidate is black?

The left absolutely fears that and your opinion is spot on.

This will be my only response to you: Nothing in the statement SF made or in my support of that statement or in Rana's question or in my subsequent response to Rana's question speaks of, suggests or even implies racism. If you want to flame (which is what you always do) at least try to keep up.

Uh huh.

It's a shame you can't respond.
