Beijing 'seriously concerned' after Trump questions 'one China' policy

By "push around" do you mean "loan America trillions of dollars?"

there have obviously been other issues.....dating way back to the steel dumping days.....computer hacking (the kind the FBI and CIA didn't bother with)....currency devaluation.......none of these are on your radar I gather......

It was all over the news...this morning. Are you really asking for a link to a story less than 12 hours old?

Damn, I musta missed it.....EXACTLY what did Trump say specifically about the one China issue?...though I hesitate to call it an issue at all.....humor me...

A link would be great to read his words, not somebody elses opinion....

You do realize it's already been posted in this thread?

I posted a link earlier with the video of him saying it on Fox News

this is pretty much it. China is going to have one china policy back. They just have to pay for it first :3
I really doubt that.

One China is a foundational element that has been in existence for a long time. It's not some new option. It's a long time fact.

It's a really bad bet to think that it is something that China will see as needing to be purchased from each successive US president.

Trump's statement is an affront that China will surely believe that Trump must clearly and publicly rectify - and not for pay, but because Trump was mistaken.

North Korea thinks that South Korea belongs to them. Argentina thinks the Falklands belong to them. Ukraine thinks the Crimea belongs to them. Thinking it doesn't make it true. Trump wasn't mistaken.

The One China policy is a communist construct. It should never be taken seriously on that basis, alone.

The 1943 Cairo Declaration and the 1945 Potsdam Declaration reaffirmed in unequivocal terms China's sovereignty over Taiwan as a matter of international law."

The west also believed that the Nationalist government was going to return to power, once the Japanese were driven out.
