Beijing 'seriously concerned' after Trump questions 'one China' policy

Stop lying, you live at Walmart, eat at the Golden Corral, drive a Ford 150, think the Beverly Hillbillies was funny, and drink Budweiser beer

I despise Wal$Mart.
I love Golden Corral.
I own a Ford F-250, not a 150, but its not my primary driver.
I didn't really think the Beverly Hillbillies was funny but I wanted to bang Ellie Mae in the worst way, I'm talking seriously perverted fucked up shit.
I can't drink Bud, it makes me sick, literally. I brew my own beer.

No. I'm upset about anti-freeze in pet food and toothpaste. How about you?

I'm upset that among Trump's first post-election priorities is to keep poking at China - for no other reason than to show he's "tough."

He's not fit to be a world leader, and he's basically confirming that every day.

Syria. You lose. 'Nuff said.

I thought the whole Trump calling Taiwan right after winning was essentially questioning the one China policy?

Trump accepted Taiwan's call to him....more than 3 weeks after winning the election.....obviously pre arranged.

First reported by Taiwanese media, the conversation between Trump and Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen was later confirmed by the President-elect in a tweet. “The President of Taiwan CALLED ME today to wish me congratulations on winning the Presidency. Thank you!”

So must Trump ask Beijing’s permission to communicate with Taiwan. He isn't the president, hes still a private citizen and can speak to anyone he wants.

Trump knew what he was doing when he accepted the call. He was challenging China's one China policy. Are you against him doing so?

China was able to push Obama around but Trump is letting China know that those days will be over come Jan. 20.....
It confirms he is a leader.......I'm not upset a bit.....

Did you actually read what he said or is this just more knee jerk Trump sucks stuff? Trump is going to deal with China.

"Unless" is the keyword in the quote.

He is not the president....he isn't challenging anyone..............yet. He holds no office in the government at all...........yet....Hes not even officially President-elect until the EC makes it official.....

I think showing his independence is refreshing....

I read what he said & have watched what he's been doing. It's irresponsible & reckless.

Like everything w/ Trump, he's shooting from the hip. I have no doubt at all that it's appealing to his mindless "go Trump!" supporters, but he doesn't have a master plan here. He's just poking the bear to see what happens.

It's all fun & games until the world economy crashes.

While he isn't technically president yet, he can still do some diplomatic posturing and positioning as president elect. Anything formal is out of the question obviously.

It will be interesting if players on the world stage make the same mistake Trump's political opponents did and underestimate him.

Problem number one here is that you think China is "the bear".

By "push around" do you mean "loan America trillions of dollars?"

US spending money we don't have is sad state of affairs......it makes me wonder how close to bankruptcy we really are....

China holds a big chunk of our national debt, but not as much as is held by US-based investors or Japan or even England.
It's much more in their interest to keep our economy strong so that they can realize a return on their investment.

He's trying to at least put Taiwan into play, and the Chinese won't tolerate it.
So Trump backs down either for concessions or for Beijing to save face. win/win either way.

The professional diplomats are in dithers as their cocktail partys are threatened.

this is pretty much it. China is going to have one china policy back. They just have to pay for it first :3
I really doubt that.

One China is a foundational element that has been in existence for a long time.

It's a really bad bet to think that it is something that China will see as needing to be purchased from each successive US president.
