Beck LIED about what Soros did as a youth during the Holocaust. Now he's LYING about making a 'judgment'. How MANY lies are acceptable to you Dixie...1, 2, 3, what's your limit?

That's not what happened at all. He didn't help confiscate people's land. He didn't actively participate in betraying his Jewish neighbors or friends. The implications are horrible.

In his radio show Wednesday, Beck revived an unfounded claim that Soros, as a child in Hungary, helped ship Jews to death camps.
“And George Soros used to go around with this anti-Semite and deliver papers to the Jews and confiscate their property and then ship them off,” Beck said. “And George Soros was part of it. He would help confiscate the stuff. It was frightening. Here’s a Jewish boy helping send the Jews to the death camps. And I am certainly not saying that George Soros enjoyed that, even had a choice. I mean, he’s 14 years old. He was surviving. So I’m not making a judgment. That’s between him and God. As a 14-year-old boy, I don’t know what you would do.”
In fact, Soros, then 13 and living under the protection of a non-Jewish Hungarian, on one occasion joined the older man when he was ordered by Nazis to inventory the estate of a Hungarian Jew who had fled. On another occasion, the local Jewish council had ordered Soros to deliver letters to local lawyers; Soros’ father, Tivadar, realized the letters were to Jewish lawyers, and meant to expedite their deportation. He told George to warn the targets to flee, and ended George’s work with the council.

“Glenn Beck’s description of George Soros’ actions during the Holocaust is completely inappropriate, offensive and over the top. For a political commentator or entertainer to have the audacity to say—inaccurately—that there’s a Jewish boy sending Jews to death camps, as part of a broader assault on Mr. Soros, that’s horrific… To hold a young boy responsible for what was going on around him during the Holocaust as part of a larger effort to denigrate the man is repugnant.”

“No one who truly understands ‘the sensitivity and sacred nature’ of the Holocaust would deliberately and grotesquely mischaracterize the experience of a 13 year old Jew in Nazi-occupied Hungary whose father hid him with a non-Jewish family to keep him alive,” Greer said. “Many other Jews survived the attempted extermination of the Jewish people by changing their identities and hiding with Righteous Gentiles. With today’s falsehoods, Beck has engaged in a form of Holocaust revisionism.”

The 'real story' is what Beck said on his radio show. If it wasn't, we wouldn't be talking about it.

That's right-don't watch or listen to Beck in his own words unparsed and in context. Don't listen to Soros describe that year, his 14th, as one of his happiest...not his most confusing or conflicted...but happiest.
In his developing picture of the man George Soros the commentary, if not the most tasteful, IS worthy of a visit. If years later when interviewed in 2001 Soros had expressed even some trouble of conscience with what he had unwittingly participated in one could be more sympathetic...instead Soros called that year one of his happiest! Certainly that begs some sort of examination?

I really don't understand you Yurt and I'm tired of trying. Everything I said had to do with this thread, my convo with Rana, and the order in which comments were made. Now you're bringing up Athena and another thread.
You're so quick to call people names. Sometimes I think you don't read beyond the first sentence or so, and then you fill in the rest with your interpretation and act on it.

There is no difference between what I posted and you posted, except for the end, where Beck is expecting Soros to have remorse FOR SOMETHING HE DIDN'T DO!!!
I watched the Beck segment. It is not journalism. It is propaganda, hate-mongering and fear-mongering. There are so many areas of his argument where he uses out of context videos and snippets. It would not hold up to close scrutiny. BUT, the people that watch it and believe it will never check on the facts, or call Beck out. What Beck does is nothing new. It closely resembles what Joseph Goebbels did in Germany and the POLITBURO and Pravda did in the Soviet Union.
It is divisive, deceitful and dangerous. Beck is creating hatred and fear among one group of Americans towards another group of fellow Americans.
It was only a few months ago a nut set off to kill American citizens at the Tides Foundation. He fingered Beck for giving him the motivation to murder Americans.

There was nothing made up. Soros himself in a 2001 interview acknowledges that this is true. The point Beck was trying to make is not that Soros did this to stay alive, but that he in fact considered this time one of his "happiest"! How is this not a legitimate examination of the man?

Of course his happiness had nothing to do with the fact he was STILL ALIVE and not dead, as so many of his fellow Jews found themselves after being rounded up by the Nazis.
Certainly his happiness had NOTHING to do with that.

That's right...Soros said the time was his happiest, not that he was alive. Perhaps if it's not too much hard work you can go watch the video and see the obvious fact that Soros was not talking about being alive, but just of his time during that episode of his life.
But then that might be expecting too much honesty from such a hypocrite as yourself.
