Because We Can't Talk About It Enough . . . Another Torture Thread

just quit being intellectually dishonest. How long madcow or hitchens last means absolute dick with regards to the merits of whether or not it's torture. If you want to claim it's torture - fine. But using people that volunteered who then "found out" that it wasn't a swell time is hardly relevant. It's like - NO FUCKING SHIT. The reason we use it in the first place is because those getting waterboarded DON'T LIKE IT. I mean... LOL? This is nothing new, this isn't news. It's just fucking stupid and gimmicy and you dumb proles eat it all up.

Surely the point is that they both Hitchens and Muller thought that waterboarding wasn't that bad until they tried themselves. They were also aware that they weren't going to drown yet it didn't stop them thinking that they were all the same.

Jesse Ventura says that waterboarding is torture.

There's basically no amount of evidence or testimony that would convince the Grinds and Dixies of the world that waterboarding is torture. They've taken the faith-based position that the Bush administration would never resort to anything quite so terrible as torture and there's nothing you can do to change their minds short of forcing them to experience it first hand.

Jeff, is it legal to lock yourself in solitary confinment for thirty years?

Does that in any way prove that it's a bad thing to force upon someone?

The whole philosophy behind waterboarding was to find something that sounded innocuous to a layman but produced pain on the level of torture.

I know in my family if we had someone locking themselves in a closet for 30 yrs. they would be committed, lol

Seriously I am not so much arguing the waterboarding as I am the people being used as proof, I mean come on now, Man Cow, Jessie ( who by the way, I do agree with WinterBorn he was trained with it)but who would tell ya tomorrow was Christmas if his party wanted ya to believe it.

From what I have seen there is no law against waterboarding , there has been a case were a judge ruled against it , but that could be over ruled by another, what I understand the law to be right now , is at the time the waterboarding was taking place it was not illegal.

And I will take it one step further, do you honestly think that in the field during war time, there isn't much worse going on, is it right NO, but it is the way it is.

If waterboarding one man 83 times isn't torture, what is?
Every one of those involved including whoever gave the orders should be subjected to psychiatric evaluation before their court martial.

I love to know how long some of these macho men would last, Dumbo would be a good candidate to start with.

Hmmm, seems that even though he KNEW he wouldn't die, he was ready to say anything that he KNEW. Torture? Effective? Why won't they release the memos on results?

Perhaps the alternative?

Murdock: Americans should be proud of waterboarding

Library Tower looms 73 stories above Los Angeles. But the Pacific Coast’s highest skyscraper could have become a smoldering pile of steel beams had CIA interrogators not waterboarded Khalid Sheik Mohammed 183 times in March 2003, as declassified memoranda reveal. Americans should be proud that our public servants had the patience and persistence to pressure al-Qaida’s self-described military chief until he cracked.

The hard-core hand-wringing among soft-headed liberals over these so-called “torture memos” ignores the fact that these tactics squeezed priceless intelligence from KSM and al-Qaida’s Abu Zubaydah (waterboarded 83 times in August 2002).

As former George W. Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen explained in the Washington Post, a May 2005 Justice Department memo states: “Before the CIA used enhanced (interrogation) techniques … KSM resisted giving any answers to questions about future attacks." Waterboarding finally loosened KSM’s lips.

This uncovered “a KSM plot, the Second Wave, ‘to use East Asian operatives to crash a hijacked airliner into’ a building in Los Angeles.” KSM later told Guantanamo authorities that al-Qaida targeted the 1,018-foot-tall Library Tower. KSM’s confessions, the memo says, prompted “the discovery of the Guraba Cell, a 17-member Jemmah Islamiyah cell tasked with executing the ‘Second Wave.’”

“(I)nformation obtained from KSM also led to the capture of Riduan bin Isomuddin, better known as Hambali,” the memo continues. Hambali supervised October 2002’s Bali nightclub bombings that shredded 202 vacationers and wounded 209 others.

Rough questioning inspired KSM to identify Iyman Faris. He was convicted of plotting to sever the Brooklyn Bridge’s cables with torches. KSM also fingered Sept. 11 collaborator Yazid Sufaat. The 9-11 Commission Report states that Sufaat “cultivate(d) anthrax for al-Qaida in a laboratory he helped set up near the Kandahar airport.”

Zubaydah initially clammed up, but waterboarding made him sing. He squealed on USS Cole bomber Rahim al-Nashiri, (17 Americans dead; 40 wounded), Sept. 11 conspirator Ramzi bin al-Shibh and KSM.

Justice’s memo concludes, “The CIA believes ‘the intelligence acquired from these interrogations has been a key reason why al-Qaida has failed to launch a spectacular attack in the West since Sept. 11, 2001.’¦” Zubaydah explains why enhanced interrogation works: “Brothers who are captured and interrogated are permitted by Allah to provide information when they believe they have reached the limit of their ability to withhold it in the face of psychological and physical hardship.”

Meanwhile, the ceaseless whimpering over KSM’s waterboarding almost universally neglects his victims’ agony. KSM masterminded the 9/11 massacre (2,976 dead, 7,356 wounded). He also said: “I decapitated with my blessed right hand the head of the American Jew, Daniel Pearl.” KSM financed February 1993’s Twin Towers explosion (six dead; 1,040 injured).

Thus, my eyes stayed dry upon learning that American counterterrorists dampened KSM’s nostrils 183 times. I cry for the 2,976 individuals who KSM, Zubaydah, and their colleagues slaughtered on 9/11. Of the 2,752 they butchered at the World Trade Center, 1,125 were literally vaporized.

Their loved ones still do not have so much as bone fragments to bury, nor place flowers upon, nor shed tears.

Now that is torture.

"Murdock, Americans should be proud of waterboarding"
"As former g w bush speechwriter Marc Theissen explained...."

Case closed.

1. no permanent injury
2. no scars, no wounds
3. people are volunteering to try it out

= false outrage from a bunch of pussies (you guys)

And yet a big, tough guy like you still won't volunteer to try it out and show just what a real man you are.

Put up or shut up tough guy.

Hmmm, seems that even though he KNEW he wouldn't die, he was ready to say anything that he KNEW. Torture? Effective? Why won't they release the memos on results?

They won't release it cause it may just show that they got valuable info from it.

And of course the left don't want ya to know that, they just want to scream torture, this whole thing is a political game, my party is better than yours, LOL
Like a bunch of little kids on the school play ground, If we don't get together and work together we will surely fall divided!

Does that mean let's all join hands, get along, and allow torture to continue?

Retarded. Shoot yourself.

Ya see what I mean a Idiot that cares more about his party than his country, I have seen many of your post I don't really think you are in any position to call anyone retarded:pke:

And exactly why is saying we must all work together retarded?

After all isn't this the administration of change, governing from the middle of the isle, LMAO, typical!

Its hilarious that anyone would take a publicity stunt, a radio DJ, and use THIS as evidence to define what is and isnt torture. lol

"it reminded him of a childhood memory of when he almost drowned.." lol

As an interrogation technique you expect that it would be uncomfortable, it is a harsh way to interrogate someone. But in this case... just as in every other case.. the person walked away, alive, with no physical harm, no lasting physical pain, and a demonstrated effectiveness of the technique. 6 seconds to demonstrate a willingness for it to stop, with no threat of death, no physical harm, no lasting physical pain.. these are the exact OPPOSITE terms associated with ACTUAL torture.

How can it be equated if they are the exact opposite of each other?

These techniques were used on 3 or 4 TOP LEVEL al queda operatives. These techniques were administered by experts under close supervision with medical teams on standby. AND ALL THREE of these Al Queda terrorists are alive, fed very well, provided with better medical care than anyone reading this post. They are given religious items whenever they prefer, as well as other torturous atrocities . They are also responsible for the death of over 3 thousand Americans.

I realize that some of you believe that using handcuffs on a prisoner, restricting their ability to scratch their own nose is torture. I mean, when your nose itches not allowing a person to scratch is just inhumane and way too uncomfortable for a dignified human being to suffer through. What about the conditions of keeping a live human being in a cell? Restricting their freedom and interaction with other human beings? The entire concept of detaining terrorists OR criminals is torture for the incarcerated. Waterboarding is no different. Can anyone here guess how long Mancow would last in other uncomfortable situations... like taking a shower without hot water? Torturous situations like that? lol

Some of you need a little perspective before you support idiotic conclusions.

Dungheap: "Im so ashamed to be an American. We tortured high level terrorists after we kidnapped them from their villas"

France:"Oh yeah, what did you do? Cut their feet off? Cut off some fingers? Beat them? Flog them? Break their bones? Put your cigarettes out in their eyes? Bound them with ropes in positions and then tighten to the ropes until you pull their limbs out of their sockets? Electrocute them? Brand them?

Dungheap: "No... none of that.. worse. We fed them well, we provided them with medical care, we provided them with religious items... and we poured water on their face.... And i know thats torture because some DJ tried it and told me so.. I use that as my proof..."

lol

We all need to work together in this instance means we all need to back torture. That's fucking retarded.

The bit about party over country is 110 percent projection.

BTW: "a Idiot" - that's priceless.
