because no one else has........general dissatisfaction with service......

Service is pretty bad, but you are getting what you are paying for.

Have you given up Fast Food yet? Apparently not yet, as every drive through is 10 cars deep.

Does it really taste all that good?

You people are going to learn, that Fast Food was the worst thing that ever happened to America.

Now go eat your Squat-a-burger! :palm:

It’s not the fast food, Gecko, it’s the food in the grocery store..and gas at the pump.

We are facing a hopefully temporary reaction to the post Reagan years.

Regulations which protected workers were eliminated.

What wasn't eliminated was defunded.

Private sector unions aren't anything near what they were in my day,

public sector unions [like the NEA and NFT] are under vicious attack by reactionaries,

and the private sector has the freedom and latitude to exploit and abuse workers all that they want.

Work has been redefined from dignified productivity to pure exploitation.

Middle American white working class people who used to be Democrats

were fooled by the oligarchs to vote Republican in direct opposition to their own best economic interest.

The oligarchs exploited their racism and xenophobia to accomplish that, and it worked.

Proletarians by social class now think that they're bourgeoisie and willing participate in their own exploitation.

When the political right has been successfully purged out of existence,
people will once again take pride in working
because work will once again be appreciated and properly remunerated.

We'll have to agree to disagree... especially when it comes to teacher's unions... (if you think carefully about it you know why work ethic is almost non-existent and why management has to ignore/tolerate the lack of it.. and this is not a Republican problem...;))Have a great Sunday ...the weather is so much better than it's been... perfect for the new dog park and splash pad just opened here...finally...

I'm going to need your help, TOP.
I thought very carefully about it, and all that I could come up with was what I wrote in my post.:bigthink:

There is a particular Mexican restaurant that we go to every once in a while. Every time we go,...it is ALWAYS the same. The service is better than EXCELLENT,....its just fantastic. The food is great, the drinks are even BETTER! And the staff is absolutely ON TOP OF EVERYTHING. Its actually refreshing to see service like that,...sadly its becoming more and more rare. But not there,....those guys got it going on!

I have noticed that there is a lot of water cooler discussion about the quality of service across the board.....people talk about long waiting lines, slow service, hard to find good help, people don't show up for work, don't do their job, can't find a sales clerk in the store, waitresses have too many tables.......all those sorts of things that seem to show businesses are having trouble filling those jobs that went empty during covid.......do you folks experience the same thing where you live?......

Let a few million imigrants in and solve that problem real quick!

I'm actually glad that the Stoner has a bistro that he really enjoys, although I don't know why.

His Mexican joint to him is like my favorite Chinese place to me.
Everything is just about perfect.

Being satisfied with anything in this difficult life is well worth noting.
Maybe that's why.

Well, half wit, the public sector unions [like the NEA and NFT] are using the FBI to label parents who only want input as to their children’s education, as terrorists.

This flipped Virginia from blue to mostly red and is resonating across America.

Do not, I repeat, do not get between parents and their children’s education.

That is asinine. When was the last time virginia voted for a republican president. It used to be solid red and now is blue

The irony is that mostly blue Virginia was the capitol of the Confederacy and blood red West Virginia stayed with the union.
It's probably not so much about attitudes changing as it is about different things becoming important.

it was blue for a while under Obama.....not any more.....
virginia does in fact have a Republican governor, Republican House and a Demmycrat senate by a lead of two votes....
