Absolutely...work ethic is almost non-existent....and "management" tolerates it...which is completely frustrating....
In addition, I can't think of a business that isn't short staffed and has been for quite some time....
We are facing a
hopefully temporary reaction to the post Reagan years.
Regulations which protected workers were eliminated.
What wasn't eliminated was defunded.
Private sector unions aren't anything near what they were in my day,
public sector unions [like the NEA and NFT] are under vicious attack by reactionaries,
and the private sector has the freedom and latitude to exploit and abuse workers all that they want.
Work has been redefined from dignified productivity to pure exploitation.
Middle American white working class people who used to be Democrats
were fooled by the oligarchs to vote Republican in direct opposition to their own best economic interest.
The oligarchs exploited their racism and xenophobia to accomplish that, and it worked.
Proletarians by social class now think that they're bourgeoisie and willing participate in their own exploitation.
When the political right has been successfully purged out of existence,
people will once again take pride in working
because work will once again be appreciated and properly remunerated.
