The intellectual basis of Christianity is grounded in a historical event and a historical man.
You just have to decide whether the first century testimonial accounts are lies, fabrications, and mischaracterizations; or whether there is reliable testimony to support the historicity of the crucifixion and resurrection.

Nope. We've been over this. There are no first-hand accounts. None. Jesus cannot be officially declared an historical person, but he can be believed to be an historical person by anyone and everyone, and that requires no evidence at all.
If you believe that Jesus was an historical person, great. If, on the other hand, you have a deep-seeded need for others to accept the idea that Jesus was an historical person, you need to dig up a first-person account from some direct witness. Josephus' second-hand hearsay does not equate to any first-hand account from a direct witness.
Simply believing that it all happened is enough. The moment you try to prove historicity, you falsify your entire faith. You die on your quest for the Holy Grail.
